umm, whereis it? Yahoo? Espn?

and why so soon on the draft?

(Just curious, i'll be in no matter what, but isn't the draft usually like within a week of the season so you know final starters etc?)

Drafting in these leagues starts back in February actually. But,.....

I have changed the time to Sunday March 26th at Noon EST. Good suggestion Paddler.

Thanks Mid.

I've been in leagues where the draft was really early before, and some people get robbed with spring training injuries or lost the closers job to some new fireballer etc... It happens anyway at the end, just the risk is lower.

Thanks again, I'm looking forward to the draft!!

Strange, I was on the draft live for about 45 minutes. Bonds was my 5th selection. I thought he might have re-injured-roided himself or something

The Blue Gays are falling fast... soon to take their rightful place bringing up the rear.

OK, I guess I just don't get this fantasy baseball stuff.

I have a decent lineup and pitching staff. Hell, I have the top 2 hitters in the AL, two 5-1 pitchers and like the top closer (12 sv) in the AL and I'm sitting in dead last.

Your players suck. Look at their rankings within our leagues scoring system.

The second row is how they are performing over the season, third is how they have performed over the past 30 days.

Your team blows, just like gay people with blue balls from Toronto do.

That's the shit I dont understand.

Alex Rios is smoking Manny Ramirez in every offensive category (except walks/OBP) but Rios is ranked 208th compared to Ramirez 5th.

Piazza's (232) line compared to Rios' (208):

Code: Select all

AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI BB K SB CS AVG OBP SLG
94 7 24 6 0 4 12 12 17 0 0 .255 .336 .447
120 24 44 11 2 8 27 6 20 4 3 .367 .386 .692

So are real world stats meaningless and should I just load up my roster based on the seemingly random rankings of the fantasy league?

Posted: May 15, 2006, 2:35 pm
by Lynks
Ramirez is ranked 5th because thats what was expected of him (not what he has done this year).

This season, Rios is ranked 42nd according to Mid's info.

was looking at the wrong column. doh.

yeah, there are two rankings in fantasy leagues. The first is generally the preseason predicted rankings, and the second is the actual current rankings (i'm not sure as to the frequency it is updated, but at the very least it is weekly).

I have Magglio Ordonez, Bobby Abreu, Carl Crawford, and Carlos Lee. Looking for either a 2B or SS in return. Send me offers for any of those guys if interested.

So at the start I figured Jeff Kent and Gary Sheffield would be 2 guys on my team that would be pretty consistent... but danm if they haven't been off the fucking DL for more than a week at a time the whole season.

What does everyone think about the rotisserie style? Personally I don't like it and would like to switch back to head-to-head next season. Post your thoughts.

Thanks.

by Animale
Yeah, I prefer head-to-head personally. Makes it a bit easier to stay involved from week to week I think.

Well, about 1 week left to the season. I had a good time, the thing about roto is that it definitely makes having quality starters MUCH more important than in head to head. In Head to Head relievers are more important I think.

I guess when it's finished we'll need to put up the final results here.
