I am sad to say, I knew some people like that years ago. =(
They would hang out at the gaming shop that I, under the cover of darkness sneak into before they closed to purchasing my D&D and White Wolf books then sneak out before being noticed. They would sometimes spot me and say "Hey John! You should come over and play a game or two with us!" to which I would grimace then say "Sorry, haven't got the time" then make my escape.
