Fortunately, there are many who look good and make up for the bad ones if you ever attend

TBH, I've always wondered how the faire near Houston is. I've heard good things about it, but have never ventured any farther than Scarbrough up here Dallas side.

I have always preferred the one in Plantersville (near Houston).

I'm still debating as to who's nerdier, SCA folks or LARPers.

That's probably the one I've heard about. AFAIK there are only the two of any size worth mentioning. So you've been to both and prefer that one?

yup! I feel that the drive is better, and the people are generally nicer (even though many of the people are actually at both events)

What are the differences? Is it just closer for you?
I try to go to Scarborough Faire once a year, but can't see doing it as often as some folks seem to.
Didn't Dimebag Darrell's bodyguard work at Scarborough Faire as the King?

I think that proximity does have something to do with it. I think a little more has to do with stories from people I know that work both faires. The people who run each are different since they are basically just using leased land. The Plantersville people just seem nicer based on the stories. Also, I find that the timing on the Plantersville faire is a little easier for me to attend regularly.

So you have a lot of people in chain bikinis, and the group ass shots... then you have a woman there with herself and her pre-teen daughters in genie outfits with chain outfits over it... no one else finds that disturbing?
