One look at the MOMO® steering wheel staring back at you and there's no question of just how serious a performance machine you're dealing with.

One of the best EQ moments in all of my play history remains when some poor shadowknight agrees to take Innuruuk's death touch, charges ahead and... "Innuruuk shouts 'Momopi!"
Wasnt long after that she changed her last name... Those were good times.

On that note, I remember now how pissed I was about that whole fiasco, and how much shit I gave you for it. Sorry.
It was still a bullshit move though =P

Actually...I took that screenshot after I left.
And I actually liked being in PD...most of the members were class acts...and it was my first taste of the high end game. I even liked my hellish recruit days...when I had to finish my VT key in order to get into PD...I played for hours and hours...late into the night...dragging my ass the next day at work...to get those damn shards....and I loved every minute of it!
Even looking back a few years since those days....my time in PD was still 95% good fun. There was just one wanker that got under my skin...and prompted me to "jump ship" and become a "traitor"....
It's all good now...
Damn you for making me reminisce

PD cost me a Jaundiced BP when Sirton gave the RNG and SHM BPs to PD after CT's best Trak steamroll ever caused such a fuss. I never did complete my Jaundiced armor set after that. Bah! Damn you PD!

Trying to steal a mob you didn't spawn (Idol)?
Even Gimpier.
Getting AoW to 96% and having your lame asses handed to you?
Absofuckinglutely priceless.
Good times indeed.

I remember this camp. The funniest thing was that you guys didnt have a "force" there just a group camping some mobs.

Oh man...I remember that day in PoF. I couldn't believe Taison won the roll. To be honest, that GM had no clue how to fairly resolve that conflict.
I know there are people that just LOVE instanced zones. But for me, the drama and gamesmanship (or lack thereof) that went on in zones where spawns were contested was part of what made EQ so much fun.
Competition is healthy...and it really pushes one to succeed and excel.
Those were truly fun times.

And what's sad for Vanguard is their playerbase is going to be part of a generation who are so used to instances. They won't be used to the competition for progression, and scream bloody murder for instance to be implemented.

I really hope you're wrong, but at the same time I know you're right, and it's something I completely fear. I don't mind instances for minor things such as individual class quests (ie kill X mob solo in this small 2 room instance instead of camping it for 10 days only to loose the spawn), but leave everything else out in the open.

Agreed. Like Moon said, competition is healthy... and it really pushes one to succeed and excel. For Vanguard, any multi-group encounter shouldn't be instanced. If there's a dragon, it should only be
one dragon. Your accomplishments are much more satisfying that way.

I for one hate rushing for content. It's lame. The encounter(s) itself should be the challenge and not whether or not you can get enough people there before another guild. And don't even get me started on fucking timezone advantages.

what? we had a full raid force there and weren't anywhere near whiping and then all 150 of you fags came over and kill stole it it on our spot. we didn't wipe and you didn't spawn idol because vindi doesn't spawn idol which is why it's so loltastic. unless your talking about fennin, then i have no idea.

He's refering to the time Taison and his group was kiting at the tables in Fire. This whole fiasco between PD/FS & Fiends was going down, and the GM told Taison that if we could get the guild there within 15 minutes he would be allowed to roll for the Guardian of Doomfire. Taison rolled, and he won, so Fiends and PD/FS had to leave.

I remember back when everything was up when the servers came up. It was prime time for Starlight Stream and all the other japanese guilds, so they had dibs on everything. It really sucked. Then when the patch day (during Velious) randomize spawns everyone thought the patch just fucked up. SOE announced they randomized any raid encounter to balance the issue of other people losing advantage because of zone times. I wonder what the cursing from the japanese guilds was like.

I used to love logging in and having 4 or 5 teams out scouting for targets... it was exciting...
Then again, most of the raid/prep game wasnt that much fun for me... people talk about having fun in ToV ect... I dont want to sit somewhere and wait for 1 person to have fun splitting mobs and bringing them to 10+ people to kill...
I want to have non stop action, I think it would be cool if the teleporters could summon people... so if one of your scouting crews found a target, the rest of the guild could be summoned there... not make thier way there after 45 minutes....
