Has anyone here actually gotten to play with one of these crate motors yet?

620bhp on pump high octane, the 9.6:1 CR begs to be blown to about 5-6psi (providing the hardware is available for this application).

What are you looking at putting this in? Thats a lot of real estate and weight your going to have to deal with.

Kid in town had a 428 with dual 750s in his Mustang when I was in high school . It was nearly useless as transportation with the factory gas tank, can't imagine trying to drive that 672 around.

I will be putting it into a 56/57 bel air one day. I watch overhauling and saw them stuff one of these in a camero.

Why would you put something that size in a Bel Air? Unless its just to say you have it its not like you would put it to good use.

A nice smaller/easier to deal with 450hp BBC would be just fine I would think or are you building a full out drag car?

You gotta realize if its a car you are going to want to take for drives and drive it to shows and such that 572 is not really built for being a streeter, although you could force it into it I suppose. Of course if your building a trailer queen might as well shoehorn the blower in there at the same time.

The 572 is street able, not a daily driver by any means, but for a weekend cruiser or the occasional car show.

The reason I want to put it into a bel air is that there is plenty of room and I would not need to strengthen the frame. Basically a plug and play so to sppeak. To me, yes just my own opinion. There is nothing else that say hot rod then a 56/57 chevy bel air. I remember when my dad would pick me up in school with his.

I have built many cars in my life, they have all been small blocks. This will be the last car I build, so I am going to go big block for once.

I will be doing a full restore. But the prodject is about 2 years out. Taking my time looking for the right body.

Thinking of staying NA, but maybe in 2 years the FI might be more reasonable. Would love a FI setup with NOS plumbed into it

Any idea on what trans would hold up? 700r4s no matter how well built wont hold past 600hp. Well I wouldnt trust it anyways.

TH-400 should hold up the 620ish HP.

How much $$ you looking at dropping on this project?
