I just received an early Christmas gift. I got the Anakin Force FX Lightsaber woot.

Okay I must admit to geekiness but damn http://www.toynk.com/catalog/anakin_for ... 035755.htm to anyone other than a Star Wars hater, these things are mucho sweet. I give them my glowing heh recommendation.

The lightsaber is cool though...

My wife got me the same one. But it scares my 19 month old daughter....that, and it looks kind of cheesy to actually have on display in my house...so it sits in my closet :)

She also got me this a few weeks ago for one of my birthday gifts. Kind of a gag gift...but I have mentioned how funny it would be to have one and pull it out at the most inappropriate time...

:D

My wife may not be cool...but she is smart and hot :D

My husband has the Anakin one, and we bought the Mace one (aka the purple pimp stick) for one of our friends, and the other friend got the red one (Vader's).

I like to hold mine and pretend it is my penis. Then I walk up to my wife while she is in bed and turn it on while saying, "Anne, I am your father" in my Darth Vader voice.

I could approach this from three angles, one is that it is a replica and cool to Star Wars fan, which I was if I can ignore Ewoks and the Prequels, it is cool to a tech geek because the EL system was simple yet the first really decent lightsaber replica put together, or I could ignore all that and point out that I collect swords, and to be honest it will be a neat toy to add to real blades or that I have study sword fighting styles from SCA level up to actual fencing and I am an admitted geek ( but in case you haven't heard, Geeks get all the Girls) or just say to hell with it, it makes as much sense as any figurine, wall hanging, toy, knicknack etc that was given this Christmas.

The real truth is that anyone who would ask such a thing in real life, would ask so with a level of common courtesy and while being polite. They, I would give the real answer to, to you I will say that I like things like this, like some of the so called men on this board like prowrestling, except this is much less homoerotic.

Only for the first 2 hours, since then I limit myself to 15 minutes every 12 hours of swinging it around like a five year old w/ an overactive imagination.
