There's really nothing more that needs to be said after your #1 item, you've got it covered. I should just lock this thread.

Journey, ftw.

Also, anything by NOFX. They make music for the drinking man.

Spirit of the West - Home for a Rest

Perfect drinking song about getting drunk, repeatedly.
Has a great sing/shout along chorus.

You'll have to excuse me, I'm not at my best
I've been gone for a month, I've been drunk since I left
These so-called vacations will soon be my death
I'm so sick from the drink I need home for a rest.

We arrived in December and London was cold
We stayed in the bars along Charing Cross Road
We never saw nothin' but brass taps and oak
Kept a shine on the bar with the sleeves of our coats

CHORUS
You'll have to excuse me, I'm not at my best
I've been gone for a week
I've been drunk since I left
And these so-called vacations
Will soon be my death
I'm so sick from the drink
I need home for a rest
Take me home....

Euston Station the train journey North
In the buffet car we lurched back and forth
Past old crooked dykes through Yorkshire's green fields
We were flung into dance as the train jigged and reeled

CHORUS

By the light of the moon, she'd drift through the streets
A rare old perfume, so seductive and sweet
She'd tease us and flirt, as the pubs all closed down
Then walk us on home and deny us a round

CHORUS

The gas heater's empty, it's damp as a tomb
The spirits we drank now ghosts in the room
I'm knackered again, come on sleep take me soon
And don't lift up my head 'till the the twelve bells at noon

CHORUS

What a few of my buddies do is listen to Roxanne. Everytime he sings Roxanne, you drink. It's hell during the second chorus. Another popular drinking song that is catching on is Thunderstruck by AC/DC. You do it in a circle, somewhat like a waterfall. First time you hear 'thunder' in the song, person A starts drinking. Second time 'thunder' is mentioned, person A drinks and person B begins. It goes on for a quite a bit until the first person is screwed and they have to drink for about half a minute. Not too bad, definately good times, I recommend it highly.

I tend to listen to albums more than songs. So this should be favorite drinking albums!

(No idea what Zamtuk is talking about!)

Ein Prosit, Ein Prosit, der gemütlichkeit
Ein Prosit, Ein Prosit, der gemütlichkeit

and

In München steht ein Hofbräuhaus:
Eins, zwei, g'suffa
Da läuft so manches Fäßchen aus:
Eins, zwei, g'suffa
Da hat so manche braver Mann:
Eins, zwei, g'suffa
Gezeigt was er so vertragen kann
Schon früh am Morgen fing er an
Und spät am Abend kam er heraus
So schön ist's im Hofbräuhaus.

It may not look like much in text form but witness it in action and you'll see lots of beer consumed!

Yeah. It seems that any Dropkick Murphys song is made 10x better while intoxicated. I can't explain it, but I don't really care to!

David Allen Coe - You Never Even Call Me By My Name

It was all that I could do to keep from cryin'
Sometimes it seems so useless to remain
You don't have to call me darlin', darlin'
You never even call me by my name.

You don't have to call me Waylon Jennings
And you don't have to call me Charlie Pride.
You don't have to call me Merle Haggard, anymore.
Even though your on my fightin' side.

CHORUS
And I'll hang around as long as you will let me
And I never minded standin' in the rain.
You don't have to call me darlin', darlin'
You never even call me by my name.

I've heard my name a few times in your phone book
I've seen it on signs where I've laid
But the only time I know, I'll hear David Allan Coe
Is when Jesus has his final judgement day.

CHORUS...

Well, a friend of mine named Steve Goodman wrote that song
and he told me it was the perfect country and western song
I wrote him back a letter and told him it was NOT the perfect
country and western song because he hadn't said anything about
Momma, or trains, or trucks, or prison, or gettin' drunk.
Well, he sat down and wrote another verse to the song and he sent
it to me and after reading it, I realized that my friend had written
the perfect country and western song. And I felt obliged to include it
on this album. The last verse goes like this here:

Well, I was drunk the day my Mom got outta prison.
And I went to pick her up in the rain.
But, before I could get to the station in my pickup truck
She got runned over by a damned old train.

CHORUS:

So I'll hang around as long as you will let me
And I never minded standin' in the rain. No,
You don't have to call me darlin', darlin'
You never even call me, I wonder why you don't call me
Why don't you ever call me by my name.
