With the hurricane that hit us in South Florida, I've had to download all my TV shows since my Tivo didn't have power. Anyways, I connected my laptop with MediaCenter for the first time to my TV. I noticed that a couple shows played perfectly, but some either had issues with the video (jitter) or issues with the sound quality (sounded like it was over amplified). And one show had the audio and video out of sync. Was like some dubbed kung fu movie! Anyways, I'm somewhat new to this. What could be some of the causes for this? Is it the the converted shows themselves or the software I'm using? What can I do to make it better.

This whole thing has lead me to a new pet project. Slap a couple terrabytes of disk space and convert all my DVDs to DiVX
