saw these guys this past weekend, and i have to say they put on a pretty fun show. I had no exposure to them at all (heard a single once or twice on the radio) so really had minimal expectations. I was there at a work event and mostly just drinking beers and having fun.
At any rate, they put on a hell of a show, and except for this insufferable 4-keyboard song they started the encore with.

fairly average band. only seen em live on tv but was less than blown away.
the only thing i can say in their defense is that they are better than most of the other shite littered in commercial radio.
thats kinda scraping the barrel though.
turn off your radio, and go buy some jeff buckley.

Mhmm.
I don't tend to like the whole British scene of music. Not to generalize, though; I simply haven't enjoyed the sound of any British Rock band.

Not to be contrary, but The Killers are actually from Las Vegas - which is the only thing that I find interesting about them. They definately have the Britpop (synthpop, if you will) sound down to a 't'. They have a few songs that are bareable but for the most part, they sound way too canned for my taste.

Well... Yeah, I merely assumed they were British because of their sound.

was that a retarded dig at me, or a retarded dig at someone else?
the sheer level or retardedness simply bowled me over.

I keep getting constantly linked to a music board composed mainly of teeny boppers, and your post sounded like it was pulled straight out of there.

I like the new wave '80's sound they have. Appeals to the "Thirty Something" middle class American crowd.

i like the killers. maybe this makes me a thirty-something a few years early, but i like their sound. their first single didn't impress me, but a few rounds of their CD did. i actually listen to something they play on the radio!

Their sound is decent and listenable. Unfortunately they can't write a decent hook to save their lives. Most songs have a pretty good beginning and first verse, but then they get to the hook/chorus and completely lose the song. Oh well.

I remember listening to a live festival gig they did when I was at a barbecue earlie in the summer and it was so bloody awful we had to turn it over.
At the same time, I actually like one or two of their heavily doctored professionally produced singles.
