An easy 3-4 mpg

I put an electric fan in my truck, replacing the thermal clutch driven fan. Picked up 3-4 mpg, that's enough to pay for the fan in ~6k miles @ $2.55\gal. Didn't put it in for that reason, nice side benefit though. Adjusted properly, it doesn't come on except when the AC is running or I'm sitting in traffic. Knocked noise down a little too.

Didn't look at any other vehicles, Flexalite makes a factory looking replacement assembly for some Toyota truck models.

Very good long known modification to make to just about any car. You lose unsprung mass so you get better fuel efficiency and a little extra power out of it.
They are only supposed to run when stop n go traffic type conditions as when your driving its off and the air from the vehicle moving creates much more air flow over your radiator fins than a fan could anyway.
