268bhp but 1528lbft!! Not something that I think will make it big but its step in a new direction. I like it. Very innovative.

That's what Mitsu needs to do... throw a kazillion dollars at a pipe dream of a hybrid... it truely is a shame what has happened to this car company... and going back to 0% financing shows they have not nor will they ever learn from their own mistakes

Still though its something new. Stay or fold its something noone has done before (to my knowledge). I admire it.

At least there's the Evo....other than that yup they are garbage (from experience). Although the old EvoII's were the shit.

The idea is... unnecessary... the added weight and cost of 4...4 electric motors is rediculous. Yes we all know electric motors have a tremendous amount of torque... equating to a sort of "green turbo", you put one on a 240 hp v6 accord engine and the 0-60 drops from 7 to 6.5... that's an absurdly huge difference. Focus on a more powerful single engine rather then a gimic 4 electric engine concept (mind you that'd be an 8k increase in price...minimum putting the evo over 40k... yah that'll sell)

Mitsu has struck gold with the new Eclipse. I would never drive it due to weight problems (65front or something? Ridiculous) but I swear every girl I know loves it and wants it. It should bring in some much needed money for Mitsu. The car is WWD (Wrong Wheel Drive) for me though..

There are some rumors starting about Mitsu making a new VR4 (you know, the 3000GT VR4 that stopped being made back in 99). This one based on the new Eclipse with AWD etc.

Mitsubishi has always made visually good looking cars including the Eclipse.

I beg to differ :p Eclipse has been ugly since the 1st gen. This gen is better but still not great imo. Although it does look better live than in pics. The weight distribution is just plain nasty thoug.. and the Evo doesn't win any prices for visual looks either imo.

Beg all you want! I've always liked the look fo the Eclipse. I've never driven one to know anything about their performance or load balancing so it could be crappy for all I know.

I thought the previous design (2000-2005) was the ugliest generation for the Eclipse. I wouldn't have bought one.

Did look a bit at the latest model but after reading a few reviews it's not something I would buy either. At least it looks better than the previous version.

I may be getting my years mixed up. I'll post a picture of the version I thought was nice looking:

Seemed like one of the better looking convertibles for its price range.

Only pics are concept pics... it has changed some... that rear diff they put in in amazing... hit a 90 degree turn doin 85... stuck hard without feelin stiff as fuck (read evo/wrx/neon). Interesting dash, incredible safety... the headrest flippin up and forward in a collision to minimize whiplash is gonna be on ever car inside 5 years, fast, fun, safe and affordable... I'll see if I can get someone who took cellphone pics to send to me

hum interesting.. that could be a nice daily driver. I was considering a mid to late 90s Lexus SC400 but this might beat it out then.

My only complaint about the SI is that it's so small inside.. definitely not build for comfort.

...wait a minute. You said "the new rear diff"....Civic SI = rwd???

2nd Gen Eclipse are the only ones that look worth a damn IMO (ones Winnow pictured). New ones look ok at best.

Although, a 4th Gen Eclipse with a VR-4 setup....drool.

That's the car

And I am, or was braindead, when I posted about the diff, it's up front in the SI, the s2000 has it in the rear.. oops
Got to get used to alllll the changes... sorry...

Anyway it's a helical type limited slip differential in the FRONT... hehe. Ohhh and not due in the showroom till mid november it seems... which sucks, I do think I am going to buy one.

Bah, it seems like every other thread in this forum is turning Pherr's personal soapbox where he proclaims that Hondas are great and everything else is crap.

Cripes man, we get it... You sell Hondas, it's your job to convince people that they are better than everything else... but do us a favour and turn off your honda salesman mode when you post here... please.

Hehe, the Element is it's own anti-theft device.

Inspired from the other numerous little rides in Japan. They were all the yellow plates (3 cylinder) and the young early 20's Japanese girls absolutely loved them.

I think maybe once I saw a guy driving one of those and his girl was in the p-side seat sleeping (bet it was hers).

edit: The site with the new Civic Si pictures just popped up. I'm not a Honda hater they provide me with many wins on the drag strip but man that just looks to me like the old Neon with a new paint job. Not starting anything Pherr, just not my personal taste.
