I am looking for a site that may show common repairs/reliabillity issues with my 2001 Audi A4 1.8 T.

The reason I am asking for this is because I am debating whether I will hold onto this car once I pay off the loan or buy something new. I want to get something new, but if the car is going to fare well at higher miles I may keep it for the benefit of not having a loan to pay.

I have already replaced the clutch and flywheel ($2000.00) and the brake pads and rotors just got replaced a few hundred miles ago ($900.00). So I figure I have a few of the major things out of the way for a while.

VWVortex might be the best Audi/VW site out there.

All cars will have regularly scheduled maintenance at higher mileage. I know for my car it is basically every 30K miles with every 60K being the most expensive.

This site is interesting.. for instance, shows the TCO for a given used car over the next 5 years (w/ 15,000 miles/year)

http://www.edmunds.com/used/2001/audi/a ... nge=Change

Average of $2,000/year for service/repairs sounds a lot..

Impreza is comparable for instance, $400/year less

http://www.edmunds.com/used/2001/subaru ... .18.Subaru*

Accord also about $1600/year

http://www.edmunds.com/used/2001/honda/ ... ..18.Honda*

Does sound a little like a car that could turn into a nightmare out of warranty, and isn't likely to be cheap at best.

OTOH, you could have got a car built Tuesday and it will run fine for 20 years.
