ok now this is odd. Heres my pc specs first.

1.6 Ghz p4
1gig ram
Nvidia 128mb AGP 6600gt
100gig HD
XP Pro sp2
DirectX 9.0c

Now, I can play most games pretty normaly. Medium settings for WoW. (raids kill my fps) I can play Riddick at medium high no problem. Sims2 at high with almost no slow down. BF2 at medium. But here comes the problem. Whenever I play a source engine game (except HL2) its so slow its nearly unplayable at some points.
(CS:S, Eclipse, VampireTM: Bloodlines).

Thats where my problem lies, I have no idea why i can run other games under medium to high settings, but when it comes to source games, I have to turn settings ALL the way down to make them playable. I have seen friends with similar computers run source games just fine. So im asking help from yall :)

Update!

Ive talked with acitivision (they made bloodlines, which uses the source engine) about my problem. Ive tried Valve but they werent of much help. I tried the first wave of advise they gave me, (stupid crap about making sure all drivers are up to date, no background programs, game all patched up) doesnt help me at all. I talk to them again, and they sugested this.
You might need to update your processor to AGP controller. Go to http://intel.com to do this.
I have never done this kind of update before. I tried browsing the intel site for a bit but I really not sure what to look for. Help!

A lot of times, windows does not have the perfect driver for your motherboard hardware.. If it is an intel board, you can get the chipset drivers for your board, and it will install everything for you... I've had to do it in the past.

IF you have an intel motherboard, find out the exact model #, go to http://downloadfinder.intel.com/scripts ... Intel.aspx#
and select desktop boards section from the left... it should be self explanatory from there.

Intel as in Intel chipset, instead of VIA, SIS, nforce, etc.
