I think that letter is pretty cool. McCarty is one of my favorite players and it helps show what a class act he is too. I'm sad to see him go.

I don't think it's sappy at all. It's refreshing to see a player leave a team on good terms instead of immediately looking for the can of gasoline to help burn the bridge. I really enjoy hockey, and I wish that the Blackhawks meant a tenth to Chicago of what the Red Wing organization means to the players, fans and the entire city of Detroit.
