System of a Down - new CD

Their new CD is more of the same: lame lyrics, awesome instrumentals, awesome vocals. What amazed me about this CD is that their backup singer (I'm not sure if he's new or not) now has a much larger role in many of the songs. In their previous CDs, Daron (lead singer) was almost exclusively the sole vocalist, but this new CD introduces vocal harmony all over, and it is very, very well done.
The lyrics... oy. They sound nice to the naked ear, but once you take a look at the booklet to understand what they were actually saying, it's awful. Almost all of the songs' second verses are carbon copies of the first verse, and hardly any of the lyrics make sense. In one of the songs, the chorus says "It's a non-stop disco, betcha it's Nabisco, betcha didn't know," and is repeated several times. Don't get me wrong; it all sounds awesome, and if it was their intent to combine random words that merely sounded sweet, then they did so with flying colors.
My recommendation: If you're looking for "deep" lyrics and songs you can relate to, go somewhere else (Coldplay is happy and flowers and yum yum yay hooray). If you want to listen to a CD that rocks hard and scares old women, then this is it. If you like their old stuff, you will like this.
~It's a violent pornography. Choking chicks and sodomy. The kind of shit you get on your TV~
