Why the hell are receipts so fucking long? Go into a store and buy 1 or 2 items and if you use a card you get about 4 feet of paper attached to the little piece you actually want. God it pisses me off and I now tear out the part I want and place it in my wallet leaving the rest of the crap on the register counter. I know its rude to make anyone behind me wait an extra few seconds, but cramming that thing into my wallet isnt going to happen anymore.

Reciepts have many things on it...disclaimers and such also as to let the companies cover their asses for any shit that customer's try to pull.

White Stripes have like.. 1-2 catchy songs. I don't see why people praise them like they do. Guess I'm missing something!

I notced that Fry's Electronics receipts are written on Mission Impossible briefing paper. After about 30 days all the text and numbers have faded to the point they can't be read.

I wonder if their extended warranty paper is the same!

I think the biggest receipts I have seen are from circuit city. Not only are they extremely long, but they are like twice as wide as most other receipts as well.

I just bought a 2-port USB 2.0 PCMCIA Card and the receipt for it is 1.5FT long (which is probably the shortest recepit I've had in a long time)

Let’s break it down line by line:

Line 1-2: Store Information
Line 3: Date, Time and a bunch of other numbers
Line 4-6: Item, Serial#, Price, Description, Model#
Line 7: Tax and Price + Tax
Line 9-13: Price again and Credit Card Info
Line 15: Change
Line 16: Salesperson ID
Line 17: Total(s) items sold
Line 18: Line 3 repeated again (WTF!!!)
******All useful information stops here*********

Line 19-45: CompUSA Satisfaction Promise "Corporate crap, Return Policy blah blah blah"

Line 46-49: Sony digital Lifestyle giveaway!!!

Line 50-51: compusa.com plug

Line 52-55: rebate form or rebate status (I’m not doing rebate!!!)

Line 56-57: Thank you, come again!

they probably make them really big so you dont put them in your wallet/purse. then they get lost.

then you cant get a refund.

Yeah, circuit city receipts are notorious for fading to almost nothing within a year or so.

I guess I had never really paid much attention in the past, but a single CD purchase the other day at Best Buy yielded a 2 foot receipt--and I paid cash. Impressive. :)

At least around here they have some stupid contest which yields an extra foot of receipts.. bought 3 items and brought home a 2.5 footer.
