jeff buckley live at sin-e

Post by landertime »

buy this album, and do it right now.

a double album of musical ecstacy interspersed with banter and jeff talking shit.

some incredible covers too. hearing him do 'if you see her say hello' by bob dylan and 'the way young lovers do' by van morrison really should bring a good music listener to their knees.

anyone else own this masterpiece?

Ok so I had an in depth post on how I think landertime is the coolest new poster VV has seen in years and how I think Jeff Buckley was an angel who Graced this earth just long enough to be heard and was stolen away by the sea...but then I somehow lost the post

Anyhow...thanks for the recommend landertime, I had heard some of his songs, but never knew much of Jeff Buckley before this...

His "Corpus Christi Carol" > just about anything I've ever heard and brings tears to my eyes when I think of the tragedy that took Jeff Buckley away from us all.

For those who don't know, he is pictured in landertime's avatar...he lived to 30-something and died while swimming some evening because of a strong undertow. No overdose, no suicide, none of that bullshit, he was simply stolen by the sea because he was too damned brilliant for human kind.

i appreciate the love man, thanks.

i seriously defy any music lover to listen to this album (or indeed grace, buckleys only completed studio album) and not be blown away by his range and musical elegance.

a double album of just jeff and his guitar strips away all the hype, the myths and the bullshit to leave a master of his art doing what he does best.

the world is a far poorer place for losing him.
