The Vodka Poll!!!

Above are listed some of the different kinds of Vodka.

The poll is self explanatory :P Vote for the one you like most

As for me, I like "Finland" the most, its quite possibly the best non-flavored Vodka in the world. Very well worth the admission price, if good Vodka is something you appreciate

Xzion is partially right, although he probably didn't realize it. Vodka in common bar usage is not for flavor. Vodka is used as an alcoholic base for so many drinks because it lends itself to whatever flavors are mixed into it. It's typically not taken straight, except in Eastern Bloc countries.

But it isn't entirely flavorless. There a numerous ways to distill vodka, and from numerous grain/plant combinations (the rumors that potatoes are sometimes used are true). These things definitely create variations in taste from brand to brand. Vodka can be rated much like wine (aroma, dryness, soapiness, etc.).

I agree that the post is limited in its options though. Vodka is definitely an acquired taste, one that most people don't like by itself. And there are many popular brands missing - though thankfully Skyy Vodka and Kamchatka were left out.

Personally I like Stoli. But I go easy on the vodka these days. It was getting to where I couldn't drink orange juice for breakfast, because it seemed to be "missing something."

Only Vodka I drink straight is Finland, or Rasperberry Bukof.

As for the lack of those brands thats why there is a "Other" option =P Pffft use your intuitions people.

If I'm going to be drinking the hard stuff, Vodka is it...preferrably a brand not sold in a plastic gallon jug.

I know there are a bunch of vodka folks here...obviously...

So, with a lot of bravery, I suggest to buy and try:

Fris Vodka

It is skandanavian or somewhere thereabouts. Unfortunately, I cannot always find this in our liquir stores here in the capital. So, next time you are out and about at the local ABC store, pick up a bottle of this fine nectar. I promise, you wont be disapointed....and hell, if you are, come back and flame away! :P

i voted Stoli.

Ketel One is probably my favorite right now though, but over the course of my life, it has been stoli.

I have not even heard of some of the brands listed, but I sure am curious to try the Kettle One.

DISCLAIMER: You may vomit.

My (recent) favorite is Absolut with a splash of Vanilla Diet Coke over ice.

Alternate is Absolut Citron over ice.

Yes, I have a liquor cabinet... but the Vodka resides in the FREEZER.

Paraphrasing from "The Breakfast Club"

"Vodka. Tons of vodka".

If you're looking for it by name, try the spelling Voronwe used. Sorry, I'm usually not a spelling or grammar nazi, but this is booze we're talking about!

Ketel one

Stolichnaya
Finlandia
Grey Goose
Absolut
Skyy
Can't seem to find a Belvedere official site.

I picked other cause the best stuff is always the cheapest shit you can find. And depending on where you live and too many other variables to count it could be any number of brands. Lame poll buddy... next time you might want to add one for CHEAPEST.

Absolut Kurant and Cranberry juice, is quite tasty.

However, I lived my life in ignorance until a friend told me about Grey Goose. It is...nummy.

Vanilla Stoli & Diet Coke yummmmm.

Absolut Mandarin + Cranberry + splash of sprite yummmmmmm.

Vodka Collins double yummmmm.

Absolut + anything I can find. Skyy Blue is pretty good also, and the occasional Smirnoff.

I like all the flavors that Absolut has readily available, but for vodka that is truly tasteless and smooth, my pick is Grey Goose.

I can't believe that you listed Smirnof, but neglected the Goose and Belvedere. Smirnoff is barely better than jug vodka.

Smirnoff = poop, you might as well list "Lucky Brand Charcol filtered" on there

I am sad that there is no Stoli, Kettle One, and Absolute on the poll
I think those 3 tie for my favorite
Skyy would also be in my top 10

Stoli IS on the poll... that's what Stolichnaya is.

Skyy is one of the most non-traditional vodkas currently made, and by non-traditional I mean totally sucks. But it has a pretty blue bottle, is marketed well, and usually sells for cheaper than the top shelf brands.

Incidentally, although I like Absolut, I wonder how much of their popularity is more due to excellent marketing than anything else.

Off all the vodkas mentioned here, I would have to say Ketel One is the best.

skyy blue is not a vodka, its a malt liquor/beverage.. SKyy (in the blue bottle) is the vodka

Skyy...

Shared a bottle of that with a few friends on a perfect spring day on a campus lawn of the University of Houston. One of the best memories of that time. I even saved the empty bottle for a year.

Absolutly.. absolut...

Although i have not tried any of the ones listed other than smirnoff.. how that gets on the poll but not absolut is frightening..

Screwdrivers are great if you use fresh squeezed orange juice.. that crap in a carton or frozen concentrate is nasty..
