Miir, or anyone else...

Do you know of a definitive guide that shows which skills get replaced with what as a swashbuckler levels up?

I've looked on the Scout's Sanctuary and am still looking, but if you know of a site offhand, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks.

http://eq2.ogaming.com/db/list/abilitie ... uckler.php

There's a semi complete guide to swashbuckler skills, can read description to sorta figure out which ones upgrade the others. If any specific questions on abilities can feel free to ask.

Thanks,

I'm just trying to put together a list of skill progression...

Like sneak -> Smuggler's Talen -> Snoop

Backstab -> Unfriendly Reminder

Etc.

I think I remember seeing one, but now I can't find it. :P

Basically, your skills get 'upgraded' every 14 levels (with some exceptions).

For example:
You get backstab at 10. It's upgrade, Unfriendly Reminder you get at level 24.

At 26 you get Disarming Grin and Snap of the Wrist (omg supergay limp wrist attack). Supergay attack gets upgraded to Uncanny Speed at level 40. Disarming Grin does not.

Some advice on upgrading skills.
When you first get a skill, it's generally not very good (you haven't mastered it yet). The skill it replaces will (if upgraded to App4 or Adept1) be slightly better for a few levels, until you "learn" the new skill a bit better.

Thanks. I wasn't aware there was a 14 level upgrade concept, so that's helpful. I might try throwing together a chart like I've seen for some of the other classes.

Is it true that disarming smirk is a taunt and not a mez? It's 14 levels later and starts with disarming....weird.

It actually is a mez, not a taunt as listed.

One thing you really need to be aware of is the new training skills. Research the hell out of those and plan a path with them that will carry you through the higher levels. I went with Mrylokars Quickening which is a double attack that adds short haste to you and it stacks with everything.

As a Swashbuckler at 46, I can self buff my haste up over 120% for short durations and up around 150% if I can get my rare HO to come up.

If you make a mistake you can always /respec

I joined a raiding guild and had to change my skills to some group cures.
I think you can use it twice in your eq2 lifetime.

Don't use it unless you want to re-specialize though, once you kick it off you have to go thru with it.

They gave players a /respec once when they changed the training skills and another time when they updated the descriptions of the skills.

Any character created after the changes will not have the option to respec....

those skills are essentially an "adept 2" so there not as important at higher levels if you have the means to buy adept 3s or masters

Not entirely true, xzion.

An example is the level 10 cleric group cure noxious. That is one of the most important raid spells a cleric can have.

The level 30 and 40 training skills for wiz and warlock are some of their best dps spells at level 50.
