Currently? They're doing nothing. There was a lot of stuff going on between now and then however.

Growing up, 2 of my favorite 8 tracks were Aminals and Led Zeppelin's Pressence.

I used to get really annoyed that they faded out Pigs halfway through when it had to skip to the next track.

Animals is by far my favorite Pink Floyd almbum, with Wish You Were Here coming in second. I have worn out two CD's of Animals over the past 15 years.

Lost for words really goes well with what Midnyte quoted above...

"Can you see your eyes blighted by darkness?
Is it true you beat your fists on the floor?
Stuck in a world of isolation
While ivy grows over the door

So I open my door to my enemies
And I ask could we wipe the slate clean
But they tell me to please go fuck myself
You know you just can't win"

i think PF despise eachother over some monetary or lyric issue and have refused to play togeather for several years....about animals...yeah, "dogs" is the ultimate embodidment of the psychadelic (i dont feel like using a spell check) element

you can find a lot of PF and phychadelic influences in some of todays "jam bands" such as string cheese incident, particle, phish until recently, new monsoon etc...i was introduced to that scene a few years ago and have become hooked after going to some of the live shows (cant wait to see keller williams again next week 8) )

That's not entirely true. Pink Floyd is still out there. It's just not the same Pink Floyd.

Roger Waters and David Gilmore do not get along. They have always had creative differences about the direction of the band, even as far back as A Saucer Full of Secrets (their second album). For most of the seventies this actually worked to the benefit of the band and the fans, as they were constantly fine tuning each others work. But by the late seventies early 80's things had escalated too far. Pink Floyd recorded The Final Cut, which was more or less a solo project of Waters', with the other members of the band simply playing their instruments. Richard Wright was even removed from the band during the album and I think is just listed as a session artist. Shortly after the albums release Rogers left the band permanently, and a couple of years later, shortly before the release of A Momentary Lapse of Reason Waters filed suit to stop Gilmore and the rest of the band from using the Pink Floyd name. After a fairly drawn out legal battle Waters lost. Since then they've only released one other original work, that being the Division Bell.

Waters is still making album's when he wants to, but nothing that approaches his former genius. Gilmore has a hobby involving planes, although I'm scetchy on the details. Mostly I believe the rest of PF other than Waters are quietly enjoying life, and being more or less retired from music.

Edit - My time line of events is probably not 100% accurate since I posted this completely out of memory.

Mother do you think they'll drop the bomb
Mother do you think they'll like the song
Mother do you think they'll try to break my balls
Ooooh aah, Mother should I build a wall
Mother should I run for president
Mother should I trust the government
Mother will they put me in the firing line
Ooooh aah, is it it just a waste of time
Hush now baby don't you cry
Mama's gonna make all of your
Nightmares come true
Mama's gonna put all of her fears into you
Mama's gonna keep you right here
Under her wing
she won't let you fly but she might let you sing
Mama will keep baby cosy and warm
Ooooh Babe Ooooh Babe Ooooh Babe
Of course Mama's gonna help build the wall

Mother do think she's good enough for me
Mother do think she's dangerous to me
Mother will she tear your little boy apart
Oooh aah, mother will she break my heart
Hush now baby, baby don't you cry
Mama's gonna check out all your girl friends for you
Mama won't let anyone dirty get through
Mama's gonna wait up till you come in
Mama will always find out where
You've been
Mamma's gonna keep baby healthy and clean
Ooooh Babe Ooooh Babe Ooooh Babe
You'll always be a baby to me
Mother, did it need to be so high.
