A North Carolina win tonight will give me victory in my office pool.

So as much as i detest NC, I must root for them.

Waran, you're not allowed on the Illinois bandwagon...you denounce your state residency way too much with your allegiance to that city across the Mississippi. At best, you're a Saluki :P

This is such a great time right now on campus. It's great walking onto the quad and seeing a sea of orange.

SEA OF BLUE > orange
though i despise UNC i must admit they have a lot of pride and wear their colors all year long, not just when they are playing for a national championship.

either way, i am rooting for Illinois b/c i prefer the style of ball they play. team play is much better that the run and gun crap UNC is known for. UNC has good enough players that if they played like Illinois they would be unstoppable.

Maybe the refs in the NBA will call fouls against Sean May because NCAA refs sure don't.

Agreed on the foul calling.

What a game, although a bit questionable in the first half when all the fouls seemed to be lame called on Illinois.

I will give credit where it's due though, North Carolina owned the first half, and Illinois owned the second. Nothing could stop Sean May. I kept screaming for someone/anyone to get in front of him and stop him, but no one could. He is a beast.

I do admire what Illinois did this season though, they have nothing to be ashamed about. The best season of Illinois basketball in 100+ years is quite an accomplishment.

As long as we're talking bandwagon, LOTS of St. Louisans in the bi-state area have adopted the Illini as their team of choice. I'd been following them most of the season for related school sports projects.

Yes, I'll root for the Salukis because their my sister school, but I've always had my <3 for Illinois

It was a great game for both teams, and I don't think the foul calling was one-sided. There was a lot that both teams got away with.

Seemed fairly evenly called to me. Sean May might have gotten away with some, but so did the guys guarding him and falling down to double-teaming him. Lots of hands involved.

Great game, don't diminish the game both teams had by whining at refs.

I didn't have any problems with the officiating...Illinois was just plain beat in the paint. Take away Sean May, and Illinois would have easily won. It was speculated all year how Illinois would match up with a good big man, and this just proved everyone's fears to be correct.

I was just razzin' ya about the bandwagon. Chicago is such a pro town, but you know we'll embrace a college team 2 hours away if they're doing well :)

Sean May just dominated and that is all there is to it.

If Illinois didnt have such a good 3-point shooting game, they wouldnt have even been in it.
