I have DSL at my house but it's running between two seperate buildings. Where the DSL enters the house from the phone box it runs into the modem and than to a router. From the router I have about 150 ft of CAT5 running to the second building where my other computer is.

My question is since I would like to be able to use the DSL on my Xbox and more than just one computer in the second building what do I need to split the connection again. Is it ok to use another router or do I need a ethernet switch instead?

This is what I use. My network is, at times, as large as 9 PC's(lan party's) and I use the HP switch listed above. Its plug and play to my network, no config needed and proformance is right for the money.

guess I didnt answer the question, 2 routers in line is not very hard to set up however if you do that save your self the heart ache and DONT use netgears. Most routers can be set as passive devices to act like a standard hub, if you already own a second router use it. If not buy a hub/unmanaged switch. There is no configuration to them, just plug in and go and are about the same price as routers if not cheeper.

Assuming the first router is doing addressing for the house, just pickup a cheap hub or switch with however many ports you need. Don't buy another router, you'd be adding complications.
