Here are a couple of the better fish and some fucking rogue holding them:

2+ lb largemouth bass...first largemouth I have ever caught in a river in 28 or so years of fishing (smallmouth bass more common in rivers...they <3 teh current)....

Where they good eating? I got so pissed last time I went fishing I vowed I'd never go again. My brother caught 12 legal walleyes and all I fricken caught was 2 young perch and a tiny rock bass. I was so effing pissed but at least he gave me a couple of his.

Nice Cane :)

Heading out to do some striper fishing in a month or so once they start spawning here in upstate NY and I can't wait :)

Looks like some day i'm going to have to plan a trip to the Pacific NW to land some monster bass :)

You bet canoe, although we have excellent bass fisheries here, we do not usually get the monsters since the Florida strain will not hold this far north.

We also used to have a great striper fishery 20 years ago before the DFW shut it down due to the stripers eating way too many salmon smolt....still some on the Umpqua River and in Coos Bay though.

As far as eating, bass are a fantastic table fare, although I generally catch and release bass and retain Crappie....not to mention the high PCB and mercury levels in any large river near a metro area... don't want to eat anything but fish that are just passing through from there! ie. salmon, steelhead...
