Euro's aren't into it like Americans. I know it used to be primarily a Jewish thing, but no idea how the US incorporated it into standard (til recently) practice. I know that compared to Euro's Americans are more obsessed with cleanliness. I can't tell you how many times I've heard Americans complain about smelly Europeans who don't wear deodorant.

There's been a trend the last decade or two (or more?) where parents are taking the unclipped route, mainly based on some absurdity that it traumatizes a baby (probably some idea that originated with the other ridiculousness of Dianetics). My sister and I debate about it on occaision, she being for it au natural, I prefer it the other way, but I guess it doesn't really matter unless one of us has a son and has to make a choice.

There's a difference between female circumsision and cosmetic surgery.
