One of my co-workers here is computer illiterate and I'm putting together a CD for her to get her system up and running again. Got everything I need together except for anti-virus. I have GOOD anti-virus myself but it is licensed, and I'm looking for a free scan for her. Didn't Microsoft release one or US Department of Defense or some crap like that?

Thanks!

I use Avast- the home edition is free, you just need to register with the company.

It has seemed to work well for me. It updates a couple times a week.

Hey it ain't free normally, but it's free when you get it from me...

The best and most efficient virus scanner i've seen. very streamlined and uses minimal resources... i guarantee you'll love it.

McAffee ViruScan Enterprise 8.0i

no serials or anything required.. just a simple next->next->next->finish install.
