As it says at the bottom of that report, to say this is a "gm event" is an insult. This was and is completely automated and has made (for the moment anyway) permanent changes to the game world.
The sad thing is that guilds don't seem to care about events anymore. The biggest guilds still on Veeshan didn't even bother to show up. As far as I know, the Hatefury Dracolich dragon in Dreadlands is still up and roaming around on Veeshan even though it drops artifacts and such. None of the 'big' guilds showed up to try to fight off Lanys T'Vyl or defend the Firiona Vie outpost. Admittedly, random players did a decent job of organizing in the attempt. But it was late and Lanys didn't break through to FV on Veeshan until around 12:30 - 1:00am.
Definitely the largest and most complex event done on the server to date.

Grats to those that witnessed it.

I know I'm good at what I do, but I know I'm not the best.
But I guess that on the other hand, I could be like the rest.

Most of the big guilds were off doing something else... Personally I like the idea of random people trying to organize something rather than having the 'big' guilds come in and wipe it out. Where's the challenge in that?
And there was more than 3. I would have stayed to see it but it was already after 1:00AM. Some of us have to work in the morning!

Groups of 15-20 light blue to blue baddies were marching towards Firiona Vie in Dreadlands from the snow, led by Sebilite Commanders that have ungodly amounts of HP. Lots of skelly, ogres and dark elf troops in formation.
Was nearly impossible to single pull one off of a huge standing group of them. Had very big mob mentality, i.e. one comes after you, the entire group nearby goes after you too.
The tunnels in Firiona Vie were VERY dangerous. Mobs warping through the tunnels, especially in the cave with the Plane of Knowledge book in FV. LOTS of corpses all over the tunnels when I logged out last night.
Was cool to witness it, picked up the common 2hander that was dropping in Dreadlands too

After the evil army busted through from the Dreadlands to Firona Vie, they began to assault the city. Vaves of mobs would charge the gates of the city and attack the guards that had spawned there. On most overy other server, the guards were overrun and the city was lost.
However, a small group of people on Veeshan stood and defended Firona Vie untill the early hours of the morning, keeping the city safe long after it had fallen on other servers. In the end we were not defeated by the evil army, but by a zone reset that removed the assembled NPC defenders and scattered our organized resistance. It was pretty cool to be there and see everyone hold back the tide.
