If you enjoy RTS, it is a must own. It gets my highest recommendation.

I love this game. I played the Age of Empires and Age of Kings but this one is so much better. The single player version is more captivating and has an entertaining storyline.

the main selling point of the game for me is that the son of set talks just like the guys in stargate... that is so cool!
and by "selling point" I mean "reason I jacked it at a lan friday night"

I got this installed, and when it gets to the menu, there are no textures. The models are there, in different colors, but that's it. I can't figure it out... tried different drivers and stuff, but no dice. Any ideas?

Got it fixed, texture files were corrupted somehow. Copied them over from Mali's PC and it worked. Weird!

Is this worth it? I got super bored with AoE2 after about 2 PvP sessions. The whole RTS thing got boring for me with Starcraft actually, so maybe it is just me

AoE is my favorite RTS series, way better than starcraft/warcraft3 imo. Craft series is more unit tactics, and no economy. AoE series has more an overall strategy feel. ANyways, pick up AoM, very fun game.

Single player was very good but I wasn't that impressed with the multiplayer. Was it just me or did they not have a map editor in this one? That really disappointed me.

I was very disappointed by the AI in AoM. Anyone else do a random map with a single choke point and just build a maze of walls with towers, forts and ballistae behind it? I left it running all night and the computer just keep running through the maze under fire until it ran out resources and offered to surrender.

I just bought it on Saturday. Not bad at all... though I think Im gonna go out and buy Jedi Knight II: Outcast... my good friend plays it all the time online and says Lasersword Only Servers kick a lot of ass.

Jedi Knight II is a blast. Get forcepull & forcejump, then jump up, yank enemies into the air, watch them fall and splat. rinse & repeat.

A friend gave me Stronghold Crusader...not as good as AoE, RoR or AoK.
I'll have to get AoM, sounds cool.

You guys seriously buy games?
WHAT is WRONG with you people, they are so damned easy to steal (if they are on the shelves). I don't think I've bought a game in about two years.

Some people are mature enough to support the industries that their hobbies rely upon.
Bragging about stealing software off the internet is about as fucking pathetic as you can get.

Im this type fo guy...
Friends says "Dude, this new game XXXX kixks ass!."
Of coucrse I havent a clue if it suites me or not... so Ive been guilty of pillaging a copy off of a friend or whatnot, but if I actually do like the game I go out and buy it.
Im all for supporting companies that put out good games and Im all for trying out the shitty ones for free so I dont waste my money.
PS: Installed Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast last night.... gonna start practicing FPS's again... its been almost 4 years since I played one (last FPS game I played was Quake2).

Yeah I will usually try something out by downloading it before I buy it, unless I know it's really good. I do the same thing with xbox/gamecube games, though... always rent em first. I'm picky.
But if you like something, and play it a lot... please, buy it. People work hard to make these games just like you work hard at your job every day. $40 isn't really too much to ask.
Now $500 for an operating system, that ticks me off.

I nominate you for the biggest dipshit in the 9-12 age range. You will recieve a certificate in the mail.
