Well, to continue the trolling...
Is SOE offering this:
A ) To provide an additional service at no cost to their customers.
B ) To boost SWG's subscription numbers.
C ) To boost EQ2's subscription numbers.
Or perhaps some other reason that hasn't occurred to me.
What is the ETA for the new press release saying SWG, EQ and EQ2 just increased their subscription figures?

I never understood the all access thing.. do many people use it? If I'm that bored w/ EQ2 that I wanna play SWG, I'll go sleep, read a book, abuse myself, etc.

Again, this is just my understanding, but the entire point is:
* the all access pass is slightly more expensive, hence more revenue
* the all access user can still only consume a finite number of resources at a given time (only one game can be logged into at a single time)
* the all access subscription counts as a single subscriber to multiple games, thus boosting the subsciber numbers of those games.
As an example, that tank combat game Tanarus is (I believe) part of the all-access pass. So even if there are no subscribers directly to Tanarus, SOE can count all of the all access subscriptions as Tanarus subscribers even though they may never actually play it.

Oh no, I understand why SOE would sell it. I just don't get why anyone would buy it.

Well, if you played like PS, and EQ2, or if you played EQ1 and EQ2, or whatever... it could theoretically be advantageous to the customer. Additionally, I think an All Access pass gives you more than the 4 character slots in available with a standard EQ2 subscription.

I have the all access pass. I actually got it back when I was playing PS a bit along with EQ1. Keeping it now because I still want to play EQ1 as well as EQ2. I only played SWG maybe a month, and wasn't that enamored of it, but with it being added in free to my account I may have to load it up again and poke around occasionally.
Also you do get 4 extra EQ2 character slots (personally I think they should expand the number of slots to 8 for everyone). And the new adventure pack expansions they are doing (small expansions, supposedly story driven, similar to a pen and paper module, will run $5 each) will come free with the all access pass.
For me, the pass is great, since I want to keep an active EQ1 and EQ2 account, the other games aren't things that I would pay a monthly fee long term for, but are nice to have as extras. And I get a couple extra benefits in EQ2.

If the All Access pass included Toontown I'd buy it! SOE needs to buy Disney. Buy Apple while their at it and shut them down.

It's cool that they're giving the adventure packs if you have the all-access pass. The way I see it, the all-access is only good for that, for those who still want to have an active EQ1 account, and to provide a "gateway drug" for those who play other SoE games to try out the new ones.
And of course to artificially inflate their subscription numbers!

For some reason, all I could think of was "ABC had crap for TV now, just think how bad it could be if Sony owned it."
(ABC is owned by Disney for those that don't know.)
