Fan RPM Warnings

Awhile ago I had installed some program that allowed me to do a bunch of custom settings for my motherboard/CPU (Abit AN7/AMD 3000+) such as setting alarms for fan speeds, temperature, etc.. Since then, I've done a few reinstalls of Windows and don't have a clue what the program was.

The problem is that apparently I somehow set the minimum fan speed alarms too low for some new fans that have been installed and now everytime I boot the PC up it beeps annoyingly for the first minute or two while things heat up thus getting the fans to spin faster.

I've got the Abit EQ installed and it's the CPU and/or the NB fans RPMs that are causing the alarms. However, Abit EQ doesn't allow me to set (or unset) any kind of audible alarm - and of course, abit eq isn't running when the PC first powers on.. I'm also not using FanEQ so taht's not it, and I've checked the BIOS and there's no fan rpm alarms set in there either..

Anyone know of any popular MB/CPU utilities that they could give the names of? Hopefully I can find the one I used and go in and change the settings.. and yes, I did RTFM and I searched the Abit web site as well. Nadda.

Try "Motherboard Monitor" at http://mbm.livewiredev.com/, I haven't used it in a long time but I remember it allowed setting alarms for temperatures and/or fan RPMs.

You sure the alarms aren't in the BIOS?

What Ten says.. If the alarm are going off before Windows loads, it's in your BIOS. And those are settable.

If it's after Windows loads then it's a program. Check startup items or processes for anything that looks like it could be it.

Speaking of odd warnings.

Whenever I turn on my computer, my monitor gives me a "Frequency over range" warning before going into the normal boot up process. It has been happening ever since Ive gotten my new video card. Now im pretty sure I just have to change a few frequency settings but I have no eartly idea where.
