Hi guys,
I just wanted to let everyone know ahead of time, that the Metreon on Thursday, Friday and Saturday will be hosting a bar for us Fan Faire people.
The name of the Bar is Slug's Tavern and its on the 2nd floor of the Metreon inside Portal one, which is a full-blown arcade.
They tell me it can hold 600 people and they are having EQ drink specials and events for everyone. Not to mention they've done some wonderful things with the menu & drinks exclusively for Fan Faire.
So make plans to hit the Fan Faire after-parties on Thurs-Sat from 10pm to 2am at Slug's Tavern in the Metreon.
I'll be there joining the fun, I'll see you there.

Oh, I almost forgot. They're going to be playing fantasy-type movies on their overhead screens, like Lord of the Rings, Princess Bride, Monty Python & the Holy Grail and some other stuff.
(Those were my recommendations.)
If you have your own suggestions, feel free to post them and I'll see what I can do.

Kind of a fun idea I think. Glad to see them catering to the lushes in the crowd! Vannoth, for those who do not know, is Saiphos, our old GM.

How could he not have recommended Willow -- easily one of the most entertaining fantasy movies ever conceived?! Good call on Princess Bride, though.
As an aside, though, I'm kind of annoyed by bars that have clips from movies running every minute or so on the overhead screens. There's this bar in the UCLA area that has about 50 TVs set up around the walls, and every other minute, everyone in the bar freezes in place to watch whatever movie clip is playing. Usually it's a funny clip, but that's beside the point. The clips immediately (and constantly) kill any conversation going on in the bar at that particular moment.
Even if you personally can resist being distracted, chances are the people you are with cannot. I dunno. Maybe it's just the LA crowd that's like this; short attention spans and all. Either way, it gets pretty annoying over time.

i definitely agree with your sentiment millie that oftentimes TVs can really be a nuisance in bars.
its one thing if it is a sports bar and you are there and also catching a game or what not.
i prefer not to have the distraction of TVs most of the time, cause i'll end watching them, and thinking about work and stuff, hehe

If I were to suggest some fantasy titles, I'd have to go with Robyn's Hood of Naughtyham, Clitoriator, and of course the classic, Cumalot.
