Humanity really angers me

Last night my wife and I went out to dinner, and we had a bill under 30 bucks total, but I had a $10 and a $50 in my wallet. So I gave the waitress the $50, and she brought bacl change that had a $50 in it rather than a $20. I had to spend a few minutes to catch her and let her know. This is all cool, but she thanked me for my honesty. Now the 3 jerks at the bar got into the act and one of them had the nerve to suggest that no one smart would return the money. I offered to explain it to him outside and he declined.
How fucked up is our society when people think honesty is an abnormal virtue deserving praise or insult?
It got me to thinking, at the wage wait staff get because of tips, she would have to work 10 hours to recover from a simple 30 dollar slip, if you are ever the person who gets the extra back, RETURN IT. Let's stop one little thing that is wrong about humanity.

I offered to explain it to him outside and he declined.
This doesn't say much for humanity either.
Violence isn't the answer!

I don't know, if that jerk at the bar had someone following him around ready to bash his face in every time he with-held incorrect change in his favor I bet he would return it, too.

Violence is probably the only language some of those fucksticks understand anyway, like Kylere said, it would take her hours to recover from that slip pay wise, and it's no skin off my back for returning the money to her and maybe even make her day.

The alienation between people in the modern society is like a big yummy cake for greed and egocentric behavior. It's sad

I did not scream or taunt, I merely offered to explain it outside, this was being polite next to them attempting to belittle me for doing what everyone should do without giving it a second thought,
Violence would have been doing what they deserved by picking up one of the three and using him to beat the other two. People can EARN violence upon themselves, if they refuse to behave in a civilized manner than IMHO they do not have the rights given one in a civilized society.

I wouldn't have told her she accidentally gave back too much money and would have given whatever the difference was back to her as an extra tip. She deserves it more than the restaurant and you'd get good service the next visit! : )
It's a twist on the Robin Hood approach although the cash register wouldnt balance out at the end of the night so she'd probably lose her job thus forcing her to become a hooker, flooding the market for prostitution and lowing the local rates. You're welcome Stragi!

I wouldn't have kept it, nor would I have been bothered so much by someone else wanting to keep it I would want to fight them.
You're starting to sound like the US now. You are so angry others don't understand your goodness, you want to beat them into understanding.

it's probably not worth getting worked up over it, jails are full of crooks and criminals, so obviously not all of us are honest, some are even proud of it.

Shaerra, Physical violence is never the first option, which is why I offered him it as an alternative. If I backed it as a primary choice, I would have grabbed him and beat him like the pabst blue ribbon drinking piece of trash he was.

The return of the money is the right thing to do, no doubt.
Look how much honesty like that is belittled, and you could say rare.
That tells you something about our Society, when actions deemed good, are resented.
The desire to "Kick some Ass" or Discuss the event outside, so if there needed to be some butt kicken, could be accomplished in a better arena then the inside of a restraunt. Is in my opinion, justified.
This was his reaction, to what could be called "the evil actions, or desires" of the Idiots that resented the honesty.
Sin = the love of Evil...
Stealing != a good act....
He was reacting to the Fire inside the Idiots that were opposed to a good act.
Evil needs to be knocked around, and opposed when ever possible....
Kudos to the Honesty, and desire to kick some evil Booty....
