Only one thing to do if you got a mac.
Take a rock, a robe, and your Mac.
Tie rope to rock. Tie other end of rope to Mac. Throw it all in a lake.

Problem solved.

You forgot the part where you tie yourself to both. =D

Actually Macs aren't(or maybe I should say weren't) that bad...If I could I'd use Mac OS instead of WinXP, but that's not practical in this day and age.

Macs are ok when they are in PC emulation mode. Slow but ok.

I'd much rather have a Mac for doing web design and such like that. Makes life much easier. Granted it would have to be a top of the line Mac so I can also do video and such as well.

I guess it depends on how well the Mac is maintained by your company's tech department.

Take the G5's at my school for example. I am using one right now -> Dual 2ghz processor, 1gig RAM, OSX 10.3.4... and they all run... so... slow. File associations are fucked, programs crashing, internet is funky (which could be our firewall/connection and not the comps themselves). The one thing that irritates me is that they will not run CGI:IRC off any server, where any PC in their labs will with no problems. The techs refuse to install any FTP clients, and I can't write permissions to files on a server from the Mac browser. I have friends who bring in their iBook laptops because they prefer using those over these pieces of crap.

Honestly, I'd rather do web design on a PC. The only thing these G5's are good for is video capture/editing and DVD authoring.

Macs are "ok" for design in general. Designers just think they need mac's because thats what they learned on in school.

Photoshop runs MUCH better and faster on a PC.

Really the biggest problem with Macintosh's other than having unstable software is costing 4 times as much for the same power as a PC.

Macs suck. They're still around because Apple got their claws into the school system years ago filling our schools with Apple IIs and then Macs. It's ruined our kids. They go to school, see an Apple/Mac, and think it's a real computer.

Well, i got the perfect decription of a mac for you. Got it from a 5 year old kit in a radio/TV store that was playing around with an IMac while i was nearby looking at games, and suddently he tell his parents "but it cant do anything".
I mean, even 5 year old kids get it, but some people still use them :)

Dont know how it is in the US, but in DK, macs seems to survive solely on the DTP business. Because everyone there used macs the last 15 years, if you make a new company and use PCs, you wont get customers, because theyre worried about compatibility.

You are wrong Hesten, chicks also buy them for their looks, i know one of my friends did, despite my advice

Well, some chicks think that looks = everything. The pink and fluffier the better.

Was at a computer mess with a female nerd friend, and some airhead bimbo there was selling fluffy pink stuff you could pull over your screen to make it prettier (at least that was her opinion, was ugly as hell).
My friend had to tell her "NO, its not pretty, its ugly" FIVE times before she got it.
