Ok so I forked over for one last night. I'd say in general it is in fact pretty cool. I don't have friends who have them though which kind of sucks. Anyways, here are some good and bad things I think about it:

Good things:
Dual high res (for portable device) screens.
Touch sensitive directional pad.
Stereo sound from the device.
Relatively low learning curve.

Bad things:
It's a little bulky for a portable device. You can still put it in your pocket but just barely.
The way I hold it naturally makes my thumbs hurt.
Not many games yet.

I'm happy with it so far, I just thought I'd give some initial thoughts here. =D

I will be buying a couple of these for Texas Childrens Hospital for Child's Play.

I love mine. The fact that I can play my old GBA games is a huge bonus. Also, the touch screen is an absolute joy to game with.
