I have a dorf crusader, lvl 11.

I have a ranged attack but none of the ranged weapons on any vendor show as usable. Bows, satchels, etc. etc. are all red.

I've tried to find some info, thinking maybe I missed a skill quest somewhere or something but can't find anything.

Anyone have a clue why I don't appear able to use ranged weapons? The only info I've found so far seems to be speculation left over from beta and it wasn't helpful at all.

I started out using throwing knives (I'm a rogue). The thing is you need to get a satchel of some sort and the kind of throwing weapon that corrosponds with it. Bows, however, don't require any kind of bag, though I wouldn't count out there being some sort of container for them as well. I suggest looking around at several Bowyers and see if anything works for you.

Theres a Quest in Elddar that results in a fairly nice bow. Dont purchase a bow. Do the quest. A dude in the building in the NorthEast part of the zone gives the quest

The young timber wolves up on the rocks all around Sayers Trading Post (for those based in Qeynos) drop a chest with a decent bow too fairly often. I got 2 of them in 12 kills, so they seemed fairly common. Found that out finally while doing the "help whatsherfaces' garden" quest from Starcrest.

You have to be a certain level to use them most of the time.. I think it's 15 if I remember correctly.. At least i think it was for my scout..

My Rogue has had bow ability since at least level 10. It might be the type of bow that is restricting some people. The one I have now I made from elm!

I think everyone has ranged attack, regardless of if they can ever use a ranged weapon. My cleric has it...

It seems that crusaders do not get range attack.

Which really sucks.

I'm having trouble here as well.

As a rogue I do get ranged attack.

I have bought shurikens and put them in the spot for them.

I have looted a sachel for the ranged slot.

However, when I press the ranged attack button, my guy draws his daggers, but does not throw a shuriken.

Any advice?
