I didn't buy artisan essentials books 1 and 2 when I was on the island of refuge because I didnt think I wanted to be an artisan. Any clue how to get them now?

I can't figure out how to turn raw basil into basil and I am thinking it must be an ingredient in one of those beginning books.

All of the books should be purchasable on the merchant inside the wholesalers. I bought them in Willow Wood.

Should be, but they start selling them at book 3.

I'm in the same boar, Mid. I got my warrior up and running, and now I decide I want to do tradeskills So I'm really behind on the game right now.

hmmm, maybe it's a bug then? Maybe raw basil that you gather is a wasted product right now? /sigh

Here's the catch. once you complete the tradeskill quest at the newbie island, you end up as tradeskill lvl 3 with 99% into the level. All you need to do is join a wholesaler's club, buy book 3, ad then do a combine - doesn't even have to be a major combine - to get that extra half a percent, then you're set.

Raw basil should work with any recipe that says to use basil. You can test this by trying to make something that asks for basil and clicking on the create button and see if it fills in your raw basil as the ingredient.

The raw basil never works for me... Grrr
