Just wondering. How many of you with jobs in the computer field were Gamers before getting your computer job? By gamer I mean all games like Atari-XBox-PS2, Board games, other computer games, PnP game.

I have an idea on how this will turn out but I just want to know. See, I was a gamer before I got a computer job. I did all those games mentioned above. When I got into the field I found that many IT folks don't even have a computer at home. They are into the Computers cause they are Math Geeks or some other reason besides gaming. I managed to convert a few of these folks into gamers.

I was a gamer long before I started working with computers. My sister is a Unix and database administrator and the only computer she has at home is her work laptop which she usually leaves at the office anyway. She was never into computers at all before starting working with them.

Gamer since I got my NES at like, 7.
I'm taking classes for buisness management and data processing, which could, theoretically, lead into the game industry. Barring that, I love to write.

Real gamers are the original pinball players before game consoles and personal computers!

Besides an old pong console I can't even remember the name of and of course the Atari 2600, the Commodore 64 was what got me hooked on all things computers. Best computer evah.

I almost lost faith in computers after owning a Mac Plus though. What a heap of shit compared the the glorious PC!

Been a gamer since i got my C64 when i was 10 (was way behind the times then though, my parents didnt have job/money to have computers before i got my C64, i only got it when the Amiga came out, so was 1 generation behind by then :ยด)).
Never had any console though (ok, had a game boy, but thats it), since i dont play car games/fighting games, i dont have a use for a console that a PC cant do better.

Being a gamer through the VIC20, Atari 400, Timex Sinclair, C64, C128, C128D, Amiga 500, Amiga 2000, 486DX266, Pentium200, P3450, P1000, P28 line is what MADE me an IT person.

Thanks, shitty OS's rotten memory management, multiple bootdisks, memmaker etc for my career.
