I have been a Cowboy's fan all my life. I remeber the Tom Landry days!! I have stayed a Dallas fan the last few years just because of Emmitt.
IMHO the title could not have gone to a better person!!

Yeah, I hate the Cowboys but I think Emmitt is a great guy too. I'm really glad he got it yesterday. He's one of the most humble guys I've seen in professional sports.

If only he didn't have those fucking alf commercials. On a side note, and I think I speak for the rest of the male population of the vault, Cidvicious get your old avatar back.

Emmitt is far better than the gang of assholes (Irvin, Newton, Lett, Williams, Sanders) that they had during their good years. I'm glad he's the one with the lasting success.
Since we're talking about it, where do you all think Emmitt ranks all-time? Personally, I have him beneath Brown, Sanders, Payton, and Sayers, in that order. The only reason he stands that high is because of his sheer toughness.

Barry = Best of all time. 1.5 k yards less than Payton/Emmit and in 3 less years.
This is coming from a Browns fan...

I have hated the Cowboys since Danny White was QB. Still hate em and am glad they suck so badly as they do so well

However, Emmitt is a class act despite his cocksmoking team. grats to him! As far as Barry, well, he had it all and decided to duck out without a word to his loyal fans—fuck him, he was a dick and did not care. Fuck those assholes that had it all and gave not 2 shits about the fans. Grats Emmitt, at least he gives a shit.

As I recall Barry asked for a better team or to be traded. Saying he didnt give a fuck about his fans and Emmitt with his 3 SB wins does, is compairing apples to oranges.
Emmitt had the advantage of playing on some good teams, Barry wanted the same chance. Had Emmitt played on some of those horrid Lions teams i do not think his career would have lasted as long as it has, even the really bad Dallas teams had a decent O-line, well they could run block or at least knew the concept of it unlike most of Detroits O-lines. Barry rarely had any decent blocking and probably wanted to walk without much limping as he gets older.

My opinion of Barry, he was an awesome running back, but didn't get the support from the team needed to do as well as most liked. And he wasn't good enough to make as huge an impact for the detroit, because one person can't win games.
Comparing the 2, Barry was much better then Emmitt from the standpoint that he did extremely well with a mediocre team. Emmitt was better from the standpoint he was skilled as hell, but also had a really good team backing him.
Barry is greater then Emmitt for that reason, but Emmitt is greater with respect to actually being able to provide a huge boost for his team that the team could take advantage of. They can't really be compared, due to the different situations for each player.

If Barry ran behind the offensive line that Emmitt did for all those glory years he would broken that record 8 years into his career. There is no comparison, Barry is so much > than Emmitt.

Kyu this thread is about football not spelling 101. Guess what you ignorant ass no one but you cares how ludicrous is spelled.
Actually we all care why don't you go and check everyones posts for spelling errors and stalk all the miscreants. Should keep you very busy.
GRATS Emmit
I have been a Cowboys fan since Roger the dodger and Ed too tall Jones, Randy White, and another great running back Tony Dorsett. Nice to see someone with his class and dedication to the sport get this honor.
Cheers
