Headphones

I'm thinking about getting a new pair of headphones, since the left speaker in mine is sounding anemic.

I believe the source of my frustration with my current pair is shoddy wiring (hey, they were $20) which is leaving me thinking about a wireless pair. However, I'm concerned about interference from other wireless devices I have (mouse, phone, cell phone) Also my cat likes to chew wires, so more wireless stuff is always good.

However, I'd rather have something that sounds excellent with a wire on it as opposed to something that sounds 'okay' without wires.

I also would like to keep it under $100. Any suggestions?

If your looking for some top quality headphones, Zalman makes one of the best pair of 5.1 headphones out there. They arent wireless. Did I mention they were 5.1!

I have a pair of Sennheiser wireless headphones next to my comp, and they are garbage. Half the time when I turn my head I get static, sometimes I pick up someone's phone conversation in the area, and some times it just stops working.

I live in Canada, so I buy my stuff from here usually:

Damn, didnt even know they could make 5.1 headphones. Any of you danes know any danish stores that have them? Need some badly, usually see DVDs on my PC with headphones to not bother my neighbours, and 5.1 would ROCK :)

Edit on that, found a good review on them, and a danish store that sell them, gonna buy a pair one of these days. Almost ridiculously cheap when you compare to Sennheisers surround sound headphones.

bad Durew -if you can pick up people's phone conversations it's more than worth it.

What's the battery duration on wireless? Wireless would be nice but I listen through headphones a lot and recharging stuff sucks.

(I really meant to type 'OMGIAMRETARDEDCAUSEALOTISTWOWORDS' just to see if the filter still working)

Hesten, Where do they stock those over here? I wouldn't mind a pair of those myself.

If your like me and use headphones all the time, I use a headset for Teamspeak when in EQ, then definetely dont buy wireless. Couple hours max I believe on a single charge.

I have a really cheap headset from Plantronics that I have no complaints about. Comfy, good mic, long cord. I have heard OMGIAMRETARDEDCAUSEALOTISTWOWORDS of good reviews of the Zalman 5.1's.. although it doesnt have a mic, only speakers

Got these.

They sound great. Just wasn't sure about the wireless ones. Sounds good in theory, but I was worried about interference.

Just got my Zalman 5.1 headphones, and they ROCK.

Havent tested them on games yet, but on movies they ROCK. Tried Return of the Jedi and Saving Private Ryan so far. Ryan was perfect, Jedi had kind of low speech on the escape from sail barge scene, but thats most likely how the movie are mixed. Lando calling from halfway down the Sarlaac was sounding very low, but since i havent seen it with my 5.1 normal speakers, i cant say if its due to headphones or how the movie are made.
Gonna test on Rocky Horror Picture Show now, there should be a feature with the back speakers playing audience sounds to give you the feeling of being in a theater seeing it, that should be a pretty good test.

Music its good at due to the headphones being pretty closed amd therefor get lower outside noice. Good quality there, but not something i would ditch normal headphones over (or rather, i would at this price, a pair of decent Sennheisers cost less than these).

Havent tried any games yet, but ill try to see how Farcry respond to them. Also got Dawn of War installed, but not sure if it got 5.1 support, but ill test it out too.

I seem to be getting some low static noice from using my mousewheel, will look more into that when im done drooling :)

But my clear reccomendation are BUY THESE, they rock.

I gave my wife earplugs and crank it. I also watch porn and crank it.

Just realized the many ramifications of the term Crank it. Interesting.
