Spring Break -- Where?

Hey guys, looking for some help here choosing between Cancun and the Bahamas for our Spring Break. We'll be leaving around mid march, and have between 8 and 12 people between the ages of 18 and 20. Just looking for any past experiences you've had for either and any opinions you might have. Thanks in advance!

There is an "other" option up there if you have a place that we can go under 1000 dollars per person and has a lowered drinking age.

Anyone who says the "other" please explain below.

I went to the bahamas last year with some guys on the basketball team. We had a blast and they have a themed-party in the square every night. One night was Mardi Gras and they had a parade go through and everything. I would strongly recommend going.

I am going somewhere in mexico this year, because my girlfriends mother has a timeshare there, and instead of the normal price for the resort which is like 3500 dollars per week per person, we get it all inclusive for 1000 total. I heard it is nice, and there is a nudist beach next door !

But, if I was going on spring break and I didn't have a girlfriend, I would go wherever MTV is going to be this year.

If you want to chip out more then 1k for an amazing spring break, Ibiza is the place to go.
For a more local location, Cancun takes out Bahamas pretty solidly, although ive only really partied there 1 night on a cruse ship a few years ago

My old boss (I use that term in a double meaning way) brought back pics of her while topless on the French Riviera. Her next vacation was to a nudist beach in the Bahama's...

Beware, who knows where she will show up next! (you don't want to see it believe me!)

Go the MTV route.. :D

Ok, again, more sensless bashing of WV.
Look, the people here aren't the brightest. But they're over all, nice people, good, hard working, and willing to help out in just about any way they can. We have internet access, we have running water in most of the state. We provide a very large ammount of coal to power the computers on the EC that you're using, and your AC too.

The scenery is nice. Yes, it's easy to get lost out here. But we, at least, can read a map. We're far enough north that we don't partake with our sisters and other kinfolk, go down to Arkansa for that.

We're not the biggest, we sure as hell aren't the brightest, but good lord, you can do so much worse elsewhere. We've got low levels of crime and low property values in some pretty nice places. So cut us some slack, would you?

You should go to Alaska, I bet the beer is cheaper there than at the Beach!

Wasn't "Deliverance" filmed in West Virginia?

Wrong Turn is also based in WV. :-) i live 4 minutes from WV ... right across the great dirty potomac river. The only nice thing is that the speed limit on the interstate is 70. =-D

Having lived a short drive from WV (also across the mighty Potomac!), I can say don't take it too personally.. But there's a reason why there are so many WV jokes.

Deliverance was filmed along the border of Alabama/Georgia on the Chatooga river (sp). I made the mistake when I was young of going down that river in a canoe. They don't show in the movie where it turns into class 4 and class 5 rapids instantly once you get past a point....needless to say we didnt see that Canoe ever again.

The reason they let off is because if they don't, half of the kids skip class. =p

During our Joad-like journey from Connecticut to Texas we had to briefly drive through the backbone of the Appalachians. Suffice it to say Virginia and WV were by far the scariest places we journeyed through.

i did Cancun in college.

we smuggled in 2 ozs of weed and a bunch of acid.

the weed was gone within 10 hours. not surprisingly we were able to restock.

i dont recommend doing any of what i suggest somebody did above.

but if you are looking for Mayan ruins to trip on, Coba is pretty isolated. Careful you might die or end up killing each other or the dogs might get you or worse.

and the Bus out in the morning to Tulum is at 6:30am. one bus, so you have to hike back in the jungle a few miles in pitch darkness, which is pretty incredibly scary awesome coming down. and the only restaurant in Coba is good as hell and cheap as hell. i htink we had an amazing night before meal there for like $4 each

the above is only for licensed professional acid freaks by the way. no rookies!!

Resort we hung out at all day charged $15 for all you could eat and drink in a day.

i pretty much got my money's worth in the first 10 minutes each day. what a fucking good time.

Haha awesome 2 ounces in 10 hours, that must have been the most awesome baked out day ever.

we had a bunch of people partying in our hotel room that first night.

everybody in my group of friends spent a little time in jail in cancun that week (except me!). The police just arrest people for no reason. basically you give them $20 and you get out of jail.

Well that puts a damper on the party... heh

It's not deep at all. If you ever entered WV through Ohio, by way of 77, you've probably gone through it.

Gotcha. It's right on the border of OH - I can literally jog 5 minutes and spit in the Ohio River.
