Who has it worse:

Me, the Phillies fan, who has to suffer the indignity of watching my horrible team lose to the Braves every year, or

You, the Braves fan, who has to take all the pleasure you can in beating inept teams like the Phillies because you know that you're going to lose in the postseason anyway?

The Astros are just destroying the Braves right now. Would be nice if I could find a fucking television station out here in Cali that was covering the game.

I guess I'll just have to settle for praying Farve can pull this game out of his ass.

Noel: you dont have a Fox affiliate?

Sueven: you have it worse. I'd rather suck dick for a living than pull for the Phillies.

I am disappointed the Braves lost tonight, but on April 1st the experts were saying the Braves would finish 4th in their division, and they won it.

On June 30th the Braves were under .500 and looked like shit.

Their pitching was not strong enough to succeed in the postseason, and that killed them. Sure they didnt get a lot of clutch hitting, but they didn't pitch that great in 3 games either.

I hear radio show jerkoffs bitching about how they'd rather be a Marlins fan (2 WS titles in 10 years, but only 2 playoff appearances) than a Braves fan (13 playoff appearances, 1 WS title). I think that is bullshit. But of course I'm a real Braves fan. My favorite baseball player ever was Dale Murphy. I was at the game Bob Horner hit 4 home runs. i could list my credentials, it is unimportant. My view as a sports fan is that I'd rather be watching my team in October than watching somebody else. I just don't understand any argument to the contrary.

Honestly, on April 1st the experts were saying the Astros were a trendy pick to win the World Series. They were saying the same thing on October 1st. The Braves were not at all a dominant team entering the playoffs, but the way they lost game 5 was disappointing. That being said, i'm happy with the way they totally gutted it out to even get it to this point, and in the 6th inning when it was 3-2 Astros and the momentum had swung our way, I thought we were in business.

Thanks Chris Reitsma for mailing it in....again...anyway, cut that chump. otherwise, go Red Sox.

Me living all summer having to resort to watching Tiger games, I'd have to say its not even a close call. I'd have to say I'd rather have a winning team that just can't seem to get over the hump. Than a mediocre team that loses every year. Being one of the best eight teams in the league is far better than watching a shithole team stink it up all year.

Also, I'm not a real big Brave's fan but you have to admire them being so goddamn consistent. They have been in 6 world series in the past 13 years since they started their streak. Since their streak started, only 2 other National League teams have won the World Series; one for Arizona and two for Florida.

I mean since 1990, how many series have the Cubs, Astros, Dodgers, Cardinals been in? That would be a grand total of zero. The Mets have been in one and so have the Phillies.

For me the choice is pretty clear, I'm gonna pay to watch a winner go to the playoffs and win at least 90 games a year over a shitty team that pieces together a double A team that racks up 120 losses.

I do Voro... My gf does too, but I went through her entire fucking list of channels and I couldn't find the fucking game. Given the long hours I've been working, I've kind of gotten used to watching games via ESPN's 'Gameupdate'. :P

I guess the question I have is... Can anyone beat the Cardinals?

I think I watched every single Braves game during the 80's and early 90's. I was talking to a so called "hardcore" lifelong Braves fan yesterday and I quizzed him on easy shit that any diehatrd Braves fan would know. He missed everything I threw at him.

Every single Hall of Fame vote that Dale Murphy does not make it in, I get sickened. How can you base bad behavior on keeping people out and then not use the opposite for voting them in? The guy was the most dominant outfielder of the 80's for crying out loud. He was 30-30 when that was an enormous milestone.

If you had seen what that Atlanta team was in the 80's then you would never have to ask the question. I did.....and I would take this run over winning 3 titles and being at home every other year. No one in the history of sports has done what this team has done. The real amazing thing is, they lost some of the best players in the league and bring in no-names who still just get it done. Teams in their division sign players specifically to macth up againt the Braves...and still lose.

I was not disappointed in a big way with the loss....but I was disappointed for a guy like Smoltz who pitched his ass off in this series for one more shot at the WS. For Bobby Cox and Leo Mazzone to even get this team here should be viewed as an enormous accomplishment. With the injuries they had this year and to win the division by 10 games is unreal. It was very unfortunate that they racked up 4 HUGE injuries in the 5 days before the postseason.....their first 3 starters all got hurt and all 3 pitched through it as best they could. And their real number 1 starter never even played this year. Then to have the headhunting piece of shit Cubs bust Chipper up after they got put out was just real bad.

Anyone want to take bets on number 14?

According to the experts, the Braves were picked to finish fourth this year in the NL East behind Philly, Florida, and New York. Thats why I love the way they made Harold Reynolds, Peter Gammons, and John Kruk eat crow.

I will be screaming my support at the bar tonite for the Sox in game 1.

Don't come near me with Yankee logos if you want to live.

I want the Sox to beat the Yanks very, very badly (though I do like Derek Jeter), but that said, I'm not sure either team can get past the Cards.

i think both the Sox and the Yankees have enough hitting to give the Cards rotation some serious problems.

In fact i would say the Cards would be at a disadvantage against either AL team.

The Cards will have a tough fight in the Astros though. THe Astros have a very potent lineup that is clicking right now, and we may see some 12-10 games in this series.

I agree, the Cards have the playoff difficulties any team w/out solid starting pitching has. The difference between them and the Yankees is that the latter lives in the post season while the former doesn't even know what it looks like.

Hah, Rivera has entered the building  . Fox showed it like it was the WWF
