Where the fuck did my NTFS permissions tab go?

Ok ummmm,I installed Windows XP Professional , it's on an NTFS file system , I am logged in as Administrator. I right click on a regular folder that is not shared or anything. Click on properties. Try and find the security tab to setup the NTFS security on the folder and it is not there!

I do not have the folder encrypted or compressed either.

Any ideas?

Do you have your network setup for file sharing?

Well, I found the solution.

Go to Windows Explorer - Tools - Folder Options. Click on the view
tab and scroll down to the bottom. Uncheck the box for Simple File
Sharing

That is fucked up. I never had that happen to me before.

Sweet, thanks Dups.. that's definitely one of the worst "dumbing down" ideas MS has had.

That said, I always did find it amusing when users w/ F permissions in windows NT denied "everybody" and lost access to their own files
