Yep, Bakara and I will be driving out to NO Thursday sometimes during the day. We may arrange a little caravan from Houston, seeing that we have some friends meeting at our place the night before for a little pre-FF party action.

The rooms are like 109 a night, but if you wait too long, you won't get a room. They fill up fast and I don't expect there to be many cheap places in NO Halloween weekend.

Guess it's been awhile since you stayed at a hotel if you anticipated much less. $109 is a good rate, a steal if you consider its proximity to the water and the French Quarter and the fact its one of the top holidays to visit New Orleans.

If you get a room with a couple other people, its really cheap.

word of advice - dont' go near any alleys in the French Quarter.
If you don't get mugged outright the pungent aroma of raw sewage will incapacitate you almost immediately.

Actually...come to think of it, I don't think I've ever paid for my own hotel room. Only times I've needed one have been for conferences, and those are usually expensed. Heh. Guess I'm out of touch.
