STi vs. EVO.

It's a close call....a really close call. In my mind, the STi was the winner....until I finally had the $$$, and spent the day at dealerships making my decision. In the end, the decision was still very, very close, but the there was a clear winner:

IMO you should of gone with the STI, and EVO is a bit bare on the inside compared to the STI, but thats what you pay about 7k for. That and another 30 HP of turbocharged steel.
But either is a good choice anyway. I'd kill to have a car like that...

I have a friend with an STi and a roomate with an EVO, and there is no comparison.
Sure they look similar on paper, but the EVO is by far the better car.
Grats man, it looks great in silver.

The 2004 red X was a better value than the 2005 model.

You obviously don't measure the size of a man's cock by how rice'd out the car is. Skogen, congratulations on your first step to the road of ricedom. Now you need to thug out your image, chico.

Must be a lot of fun to live in an area where you can actually pull a third of that power to everyday use.
There's just a whole lot of that power wasted around here

It's not really that much of a rice car.. it could be though if you walked down that road

And if you do I'll fly down and beat some sense into you!

For those of you making the riced out comments, please realize that the Lancer Evolution is designed for one thing and one thing only and that's performance. There's a huge difference between a car that's riced out and a car that will outhandle almost every other vehicle on the road stock.
Get clues.

Well what I was getting at is front plates aren't required Arizona. If skogen could remove that front plate holder it would enhance the aesthetics of his car : )

Guess what? I said HANDLING. Which has little to nothing to do with speed or power. Handling can be useful when a car in front of you fuck's up and you have to move around it.

Why is that little buddy? Are you trying to make the assumption that the reason you purchase an Evo is because of it's handling at speeds never approached in daily life? I mean, you would have to considering that the "handling" argument isn't exactly truthful. I know it hurts. I know you want to speed to 60 in under 4.5 seconds (and live in an area that actually doesn't have someone else in front of you to do just that).
But if you want to try and tell me that the Evo is a car purchased because of it's standout handling rather than it's standout acceleration, I call small penis bullshit.
Sure, you can purchase an Acura TSX, a BMW 3 series, a 6 cylinder Accord or Altima, and a Mazda 6 for less. Don't recall any of those particular vehicles having trouble handling.
I can get a Maxima and a G35 for the same price. And I can get a TL and even a Lincoln LS for a touch more.
So don't talk to me about handling. It's a crotch rocket wannabe for small dick guys that think they are fast and furious.
Posted: September 9, 2004, 8:01 pm
by noel
The handling argument is mine and it's 100% valid. The Evolution handles better at all speeds than almost any other car on the road. The braking on the car is excellent. On California freeways, the only time you can really exceed ~80mph is late at night anyway.
I'll say it again, the car is NOT about 0-60 time or top speed. Obviously the car performs well in both of those respects, but there are better cars if that's what you really want. Take your small penis bullshit and shove it up your ass. All you're doing is sounding like a whiny bitch. If I were purchasing a car for 0-60 time or top speed, I could get a faster car for less money that wouldn't handle as well as the Evo.
Your list of cars is completely fucking ridiculous. None of those cars compete with the Evo or are even designed with performance in mind. You show me one of those cars that can outhandle the Evo on a slalom course and I'll publically apologize and admit I'm wrong and you're right, but since that's just a figment of your imagination, shut your fucking mouth and stop looking like a jackass. You brought up the fucking Altima? PLEASE. That car specializes in body roll.
Cars that the Evo might compete with by manufacturers that you mentioned are: BMW M3, Mazda RX-8, Acura TL A-spec (a *gasp* handling package), a 300ZX.
The TL, G35, and Maxima 3.5 all have 270hp. Roughly equivalent to what the Evo has. So your point is what exactly? You can spend similar money and get similar horsepower? So what? My argument is that the Evo will (saying it again to drive the point home) OUTHANDLE all of those cars.
As far as the car being riced out... you haven't the first fucking clue what that even means. It's got great performance STOCK. We're not talking about adding neon lights, enough stickers that you can't even see the color of the car, exhaust, intake, and a ground effects kit, we're talking about a STOCK vehicle.
As far as penis size, I have no qualms about whipping mine out to shut you the fuck up. Feel free to keep up the ad-hominem attacks that do nothing to bolster your already shitty argument.

What's funny is that you think any of that nonsense you just posted equates to anything resembling driving on a daily basis.
So no, I don't care about your little split times or your cornering bullshit or your little attempt at verbal aggression, the car that you so adamantly defend is meant to wave a dick.
So choke on your own since it's, apparently, so big.

I don't have a dick to measure against the spoiler size, but I cream everytime I get to drive cars like that because they are pleasurable to operate. And I understood ricer cars to be POS cars that people tried really really hard to make look cooler so that they felt cooler. It takes more than just having a sunroof, a spoiler and being shiny to qualify. YAY for your new machine

The only person waving his dick on this thread is you. If you don't like the verbal agression, don't bring it in the first place.
Sorry you don't think having a car that brakes and handles better than other cars would be a better choice during a crisis situation, but your opinion here is so far removed from reality I don't really expect anything else.
Posted: September 10, 2004, 8:14 am

So now none of the cars I listed will handle well in a crisis situation? or be fun to drive? Or have a better reliability record? Or have a better resale value? Or have a shitton more amount of refinement and creature comforts?
Sounds as if your reality of dodging shit falling out of the sky while flying down an otherwise empty highway at 80 mph is just a wee bit out of whack

Sure, you can purchase an Acura TSX, a BMW 3 series, a 6 cylinder Accord or Altima, and a Mazda 6 for less. Don't recall any of those particular vehicles having trouble handling.
heh let's see here, none of those cars have a snowball's chance in hell to keep up with an Evo. Do you seriously think a 200 HP FWD TSX can keep up with a 270 HP AWD? The Evo has more than 100 ft lbs of more torque btw. It drives circles around the Accord or Altima, and although I like the Mazda6 it isn't even in the same league. To get a competitive BMW you would have to pay more.[/quote]
I can get a Maxima and a G35 for the same price. And I can get a TL and even a Lincoln LS for a touch more.
I've driven the G35 Coupe quite a bit and although it is a nice car, it isn't even close in performance. It has a problem with being RWD and with a lot of power and it will slip some in turns. G35 is more of a luxury sports coupe than anything, if you want to compare at least use the 350Z.
So don't talk to me about handling. It's a crotch rocket wannabe for small dick guys that think they are fast and furious.
Only person I have seen brag about anything here is you and your "I can buy two before the dealer closes today". Pathetic.
Btw here is a hint: All that power in a FWD (which you seem so hooked on) is bad for good performance.
I race my cars. I don't give a shit about having luxury showed up my ass. You obviously do, so go buy a Cadillac.. they will fit you.

who fucking cares about your little racing crap or your racing comparisons between the cars. Obviously, that little speedster will out race any of the cars I listed if you can find a fucking road w/out people all over it. You can only go as fast as the person in front of you. But hey, you're the tough guy racing, oooohh
I drive my car like most people, to work and to run errands. All of the cars I listed are better at doing that and doing it more comfortably while still maintaining better than average performance for the 1% of the time you aren't surrounded by tons of people.

Who cares? Well obviously a lot of peopel since we buy performance cars. And you were the one who started bitching so obviously you care as well. You see, I don't like soft cushy seats or tons of luxuries. Doesn't fit me, doesn't fit my style of driving and I generally dislike it. And if you can't find an empty road to have fun on then you need to get out more heh.

My question about front license plates got lost in the shuffle. Are front plates required in California? Someone in California go out into the parking lot and look a tthe front of a few cars and see if they all have plates!

Front plates are required in Maryland.. But I never put them on when I lived there because front plates aren't very stylish.
In 5.5 years I only got stopped for it once.
