you need to unblock the ports on your router to be able to host games.
you can check which ports it uses in the game options

It said port 6112, i tryed to write nine, zero and a different higher number in there and nothing happened. How could i go about "disabling" that port or is there something else i need to type in in that options space?

I had this same problem back when I played WC3 and could never get it fixed, so if you find something that works please tell me. I would prolly still play it if I could host my own games (so I could actually play my fav maps without waiting on someone to host one).

i mean you have to go into your router and acutally unblock the ports so people can connect to you.

Assuming you use a linksys:
Follow these steps to configure your Linksys router for hosting:
a. Type
http://192.168.1.1 into your web browser's address bar.
b. Put in the username and password; I think the default is no username and the word "admin" (without the quotes) for the password.
c. Once you're in the settings, click the Applications/Gaming link that you see on the router's home page. If you don't see an Applications/Gaming link, look for an Advanced link. If you see that, click it and then click the Port Forwarding link.
d. In the first row of boxes, put the following:
Application - (whatever you want to call it, i.e. "Warcraft III")
Start - 6112
End - 6112
Protocol - TCP
IP address - the last three numbers of your computer's IP address. To find out what those numbers are, follow these steps:
- Click Start
- Click Run
- Type cmd (Windows 2000 and XP) or command (Windows 95, 98 and Me) in the Run box, then click OK
- When the black box comes up, type ipconfig and hit Enter. The computer's IP address will be listed.
Back to the router settings - make sure the Enable box is checked, then save the settings. Try hosting a Warcraft III game again.
Note: you may want to change the second 6112 to 6119 -- as those ports are also used.

or
192.168.0.0
or
192.168.1.0

Well that one won't help me, I dont have a router and I am actually using dialup atm and even with dialup I can't host games on it. Though I guess it doesn't matter, I haven't played WC3 in a good 8 or 9 months (if I was on DSL still I would, but on dialup the patch will take like 5 hours).

The only hosting issues I've seen for WC3 Custom games is with routers

If you're using WinXP your default firewall may be preventing people from joining also.

That could be it, because I do use WinXP, but it really hasn't effected me in any other way other than WC3 and since I dont play it anyone guess it doesnt matter.
