If you watched the VMA's last night, what did you think of the show?

We watched it here and thought it was one of, if not the worst one we've seen. It was extremely boring, the attempts at humor sucked, there were serious audio problems throughout the show, many of the 'celebs' are gaining lots of weight, the clothes were seriously hideous..

They had the best chances of excitement type performers (Marilyn Manson, Will Smith, etc) doing the presentations, and the most boring doing the performances. Where's the Kid Rock / Aerosmith / Run DMC type surprises, or the cool shows like P.Diddy's performance with the boingy people everywhere, or the surprises.. Anything. Probably the most entertaining part of the show was watching Bruce Willis gettin' jiggy with P.Diddy.

Also notice the lack of a lot of big name stars? The only awards going out to non R&B artists was the viewers choice for Linkin Park and some award for some other new band I'd never heard of. Multiple awards went to No Doubt - when's the last time you friggin' heard them on the radio? Saw their video on TV? Usher got a few for "Yeah" over some songs that were better imho. Again Britney got nominated repeatedly, won none; that makes what, 15 now?). She didn't even show up this year to the awards.

Dunno, just thought they blew great potential with being in Miami. When it was done I wanted my 2.5 hrs of time back.

You watched it thinking it would actually be good?

I guess mase didn't feel the song he dedicated to himself (heavily sampled off the welcome back kotter song in classic unoriginal mase/p. diddy form) was pretentious enough, because he kept shouting "WELCOME BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK" in this really obnoxious (read: his normal) voice over other people who were talking.

I wanted to prank him to death with a tire iron.

But you still watched it regardless of the lacking quality, right? They've got you leashed =(

Glad I'm not the only one that was annoyed with that.. And his laugh, sounded like Erckle.. And it's not like the crowd gave much of a response to his presence. Sorry son, guess you weren't all that missed.

I like mase a lot, he may not be your typical person at that award, but I garuntee within 6 months he will have sold more copies of his new cd than any other cd that has or will come out this year.

Didn't watch the awards though- as I have absolutely no interest in any pop music or any rock that came out after about 1975, besides tool and APC. And all I see is more crappy pop shit every year on the mtv awards.

I think the best announcer for that show ever was chris rock.

was classic when he said something along the lines of "hurry, run to church", after manson performed.
