Disappointed...

So I finally purchased the script to the movie Snatch. :D

Unfortunately, I found this on page 130 from the coursing scene (I dare anyone to ask what coursing is :P):

MICKEY: Ah, save your breath for cooling your porridge. So now look...

He goes into a high speed description that neither Turkish or we have a clue what he's saying.

MICKEY (cont'd): ...She's terribly partial to periwinkle blue. Have I made myself clear, boys?

TURKISH: Yeah, that's perfectly clear Mickey. Just give me one minute to confer with my colleague.

For those that have no idea what I'm talking about, this:
He goes into a high speed description that neither Turkish or we have a clue what he's saying.
Was disappointing. :(

I had imagined that brad did a bit of improvising at different points of the movie....if that is the only spot, then I overestimated.

That's the only spot I've seen so far. The script is pretty damn true to the movie actually. Only a few cases I've seen where the spoken word doesn't match the script.

coursing

coursing is hunting using hunting dogs to chase the prey I believe.
Like running a fox.

On the DVD you can use subtitles, and at that part it comes up blank.

Yeah, that's why I was looking for the script. :)

It's common practice for this sort of thing to be improvised. A 'script' won't have improvised or ad libbed dialogue in it -- the script is merely the basis from which the movie is shot, but by no means is it necessarily the final word.

You'll want to find a 'transcript' if you want to read Mickey's improvised words. A transcript is a complete rundown of all dialogue in the final cut of the movie. It's sort of like a shooting script, only written after the filming, and not before it.

I agree Mill. In this case however, I'm not sure he really said anything. ;)

Aranuil,
I will confess I didnt really think that movie was anything special. I watched it on a recommendation from a friend and found myself bored with it.

The special edition has subtitles. I never realized when he popped up with the hangover after a solid tug from Tommy's flask that he proclaims, "I need to have a shite!!" Anyway once you watch this film enough times, Pikey starts to make perfect sence.

I think he says something about seats in that mad rambling.
