Iverson and Brown at it again...

Iverson, James and Amare Stoudemire were suspended for the first exhibition game for Team U.S.A. for being late to a pre-game meeting (link).

While it's not surprising it happened I thought I'd share this as I found the following statement very funny.
Iverson claimed he "couldn't have been more than five minutes late."

"I'm the captain on the team and to be suspended just for being a couple minutes late just doesn't sit well for me," he said. "I'm supposed to be one of the leaders of the team, and this is not a good look."
No kidding, you would think the captain of a team would be the first one there. No idea why Iverson is the captain on a team with Tim Duncan, I guess since Duncan was born outside of the U.S. or that extra year Iverson has over Duncan. Either way Duncan is a much better leader than Iverson ever will be.

Edit: Just saw Duncan and Iverson are co-captains, my last statement still stands though.

Amare normally doesn't get into trouble. It was a good move on Larry Brown's part. I think LeBron James was also benched for the game.

Screw Iverson. It was a good lesson for the other two though.
