I'm surprised and happy that the Braves are once again first in the division.
I have doubts that they can hold on to it into september though

Do the Braves have any good prospects? Randy Johnson is on the trading block. The Angels and Yankees seem to be the frontrunners.

The Braves have tons of prospects. They won't trade for Johnson's contract though. I am just hoping that when Wise gets back from the DL that they trade the dead weight that is Andruw Jones (aka Crisco) to make room for Charles Thomas and Eli Marrero to both play at once.
Moving Chipper to 3rd has been long overdue this year. DeRosa will never amount to anything more than a backup player. If Chipper starts hitting, the NL is in serious trouble. We still need Horacio back to make a good run though.

agree with most of what you said Kilmoll. I love Andruw, but the son of a bitch needs to maybe rethink his offseason routine and shed 40lbs.
as for trading for Johnson, the Braves have 6 good starting pitchers, they dont need a 41 year old great one with no cartilage in his right knee and a $15 million pricetag
Chipper is on the right track now.. I am glad he is back at 3rd, it is the right move. Now that Giles is back too, the offense should really start to move.
I love Charles Thomas. We might have a real leadoff guy in him (since Furcal seems to be convinced that he is a power hitter).

The Cubs not playing St Loius after tonight will help for the Wild Card, so it's all good. They can beat up on all the Wild Card contenders and the Cubs won't have to worry about them anymore. This can still be "next year"!!

...or keep their healthy pitchers from throwing a temper tantrum, pegging the next batter after a home run....read Zambrano.
Fuck the Cubs and their "magical" season. St. Louis was so underrated at season's start with all the ESPN fan boys hyping up the Chicago vs. Houston battle for the Central, I was sick of it. I'm soo glad both have taken a fall this year.
We'll see you in the playoffs

jk bud
Seriously though, I think the Cubs will come back and win the division. St. Louis beat us up good while we had both injured hitters and pitchers, but I think the Cubs have a strong run left in them.
St. Louis is going to fade away once their pitchers realize who they are...oh, and dream on if you think you are getting Randy Johnson. I believe he's said that the only teams that he would go to are St. Louis or New York, but St. Louis can't afford him.

The Yankees better pick him up... They need a few good pitchers in the rotation.

Ouch, how bout that game today Xunil? That's gotta hurt
I never said anything about us getting Randy Johnson, never really expected him or hoped for him anyway. Our team chemistry is exactly where it needs to be and we don't need to add him to contend. No skin off my back not getting him here.
As far as our pitchers realize who they are, they aren't the best out there granted, but they work well together and our offense has shown that we have the ability to come back from big run deficits (i.e. today against your beloved Cubs, SO TAGUCHI AND ALBERT PUJOLS BABY!!!) The same thing can be said about the Cubs...
Completely
Useless
By
September
And another thing, Cubs winning the division? ROFL Your Cubs are now 10 games out of first place, that's the biggest lead ANY team in baseball has over ANY second place team.
Oh your tears taste so good Chicago, mmmmm, yes, sweet sweet tears!

There's over two months left in the season, so we'll discuss this come October...I don't believe that the Cards are going to win 102 games (what they are on pace for), and I think the Cubs are going to win more than 86 games. I think it'll be close, with both the Cubs and Cards right around 95 wins, but only if the Cubs get healthy fast. If they don't get healthy, then there's really nothing they can do.
As for your cute acronym, i believe the Cubs were the strongest team in a 3-way division race last September, so

Braves need to get rid of Jones AND Chipper IMO. Chipper is batting what? .235? That's aweful for the amount of money we shell out to him. Grab another couple of prospects and let them develop I say, it's worked before with Atlanta (Greatest Bullpin in the 90s for your proof).

It's not just my acronym! I've seen it on T-Shirts too!
Oh and don't forget this one!
As I was saying in my last post, LaTroy Hawkins gets canned in today's game for arguing with the ump. Your pitchers sure do have hot heads don't they
I doubt the Cards will win 102 games too, but they do have a great schedule ahead.
Here's what ESPN is now saying about the Cardinals.
The Cardinals have a distinct advantage with the way their schedule falls in the second half of the season. They finish their schedule against the Cubs before August (which begs the question: Isn't there a better way?). Barring a collapse, they should cruise to the division title, with 17 games left against Arizona, Pittsburgh and Houston.
Only time will tell hehe
