Braves and Yankees down....
Who is gonna win it? Im gonna go with San Francisco...lets here everyone elses picks!
umm
Well, as well as the giants have played since the break this year im going to have to go out on a limb with the Angels. If they can get to the Yankee pitching like they did, they should do very well against the Twins, then eventually the cards / giants. The only thing that might hold the Halos back is their starting pitchers.

Twins have a huge homefield advantage. I have to like their chances. I would like to say publicly, FUCK BOBBY COX! You no talent, non-playoff winning, stiff playing, piece of shit! How many fucking more years do we have to watch you stick non-hitting idiots in a lineup? You sit DeRosa and Matt Franco to play Keith motherfucking Lockhart? This cock monster hit .218 during the year and he STARTS??? Fucking moron can't figure out that Glavine and Maddux are not good postseason pitchers. Here is a news flash asshole: power pitchers are money in short playoff series. Fucking start Millwood, Marquis, and Smoltz if you need to. Maddux couldn't beat St Rita's Academy for the Blind in a playoff series. I just want to punch him right in his thick skull about now.
i agree with the Derosa/Franco aspect.
the pitching, well Maddux did pretty well in Game 3. Marquis yeah he has good stuff, but he doesnt know how to use it yet.
i agree that Bobby didnt make some decisions that would have made some difference, but the bottom line last night was the fact that the Braves simply didnt get any fucking hits when they needed to.
2 on, no outs for Sheffield and he strikes out. Then Chipper hits into a double play. they left 12 guys on base, it was awful.
who got the only clutch hit? hehe Derosa.
I like the Angels in the ALCS because of their solid offense, but yah the Metrodome is a big advantage.

Who woulda thought any of these teams would be in it at this point? lol
Being a hardcore Red Sox fan (oh what a depressing end to the best season start in the history of our team...) i was pumped to see those NYY bitches knocked the hell out lol Anaheim won by playing fundamental baseball (moving runners etc) rather than trying to hit the ball outta the yard every at-bat.
Bonds is a jacked motherfucker, but i doubt he'll carry the Giants passed the Cards in that series.
The A's beat themselves by pitching Zito the last game of the season just for the sake of boosting his personal stats. If he had been able to make a second start the twins wouldn't be where they are now.
Anaeran's World Series Prediction: Anaheim VS St. Louis (feels weird even typing that)
Based on talent and acheivements this year i'd say Anaheim probably has the best shot, but i think i'd rather see Minnesota win it. Before this year the league was considering eliminating them and the Expos all together. It'd be funny shit to see the Twins answer back with a world series championship
Baseball is teh own thx

The Braves lost due mainly because Gary Sheffield and Tom Glavine bombed, to put it nicely. They traded two GREAT players in Odalis Perez and Brian Jordan for a guy who ended up getting one hit in the post season, hitting 0.0625 in the process. Glavine, who had a tremendous year (18-11, 2.95 ERA) tanked the series with a 15.26 ERA. For someone who is now a free agent, it wasn't a good way to build his stock.
Although I'm a Braves fan, I can take comfort that the Giants have the highest payroll of the remaining teams, which is about $46M less than the Yankees payroll. That difference is larger than the gross salary of both the A's and the Twins (not combined, cuz that would be a record or something).
I'm predicting St. Louis vs. Minnesota in the World Series, and Minnesota in 7. After the crappy year baseball has had (looming strike and the all-star game), this is just what our past time needs.

It is nice having different teams up there for once....and yea I agree with Kilmoll on the Bobby Cox thing.......when the fuck is he gonna do something productive? The Braves kind of remind me of an old man in need of Viagra. Very half ass in the post season. What's the story on St louie's 3rd basemen? He gonna be able to play?
As long as someone eliminates the Angels I'll be happy. I agree with Xyphir (St. Louis and Minnesota) and no Gord, Scott Rolen won't be able to play (separated shoulder I think) in the NLCS...
Bad move: a player on the Twins who caught the last out in Game 5 broke his right middle finger while celebrating under a pile of players (someone stepped on his hand).
SEASON OVER!

I also take pleasure in waving bye-bye to the Braves and Yanks. Let all Atlanta fans disguised as empty seats enjoy another year that they did not get it done.
Die hard Cards fan here. St Louis has the best fan base in baseball, period. You saw a huge sea of red in game 3, enthusiastic about their team and showing support. The Cards seem to be the team of destiny this year with all the things that have happen to them, they still keep coming. Rolen is out of the NLCS for sure, but hopes to return for the World Series. They need his glove worse than his bat and I am sure LaRussa would like the extra depth and stick on the bench that Cairo (most pitch hits in NL) provides instead of having to play him. I like the matchup of St Louis vs the Giants better than I did St Louis vs the Braves. The key with Bonds is not to allow him to bat when his at bat means something. If he bats with the bases empty all the time, he doesn't have a chance to cause that much trouble. The Giants are a good sound team and Dusty is a good manager, so it should be a good series, but I like the Cardinals chances.
I am also happy to see the Angels finally win a post season series. Got rid of a lot of demons there and I don't think very many picked them to be the team to emerge from the AL west over Oakland and Seattle. The Twins were expected to do well and they have. The issue they now face is they have a rookie manager and a team that is just happy to be in the play-offs. This should also be a good series, and as much as I want to see a rematch of the Twins and Cards (the last time they played, the Twins won in 7 in a series featuring each team winning every game at home.. I would have loved to see big Jack in the line up for that), I believe it will be the Cardinals against the Angels.
While I was glad to see Arizona win last year, what would have been better long term for baseball is to have the Yanks win about 8 or 9 out of 10 and then maybe everyone might figure out how broken baseball is. At least they got the deal done and we have an interesting playoff for a change.

well as a Red Sox fan, I almost have to root for the Angels , just becasue they knocked ou the Yanks But, I find myself rootign for the Twins, they just keep surprising everyone, I think they will take the first games at home. That will be a lead the Angels will not get back and eventually fall to the most underdog team in baseball this year.
Will come down to the Twins and the Giants

They're a fluke, end of story.
Someone needs to take that fucking monkey and burn it.
Sounds like someone needs to take their hanky and dry their eyes and blow their nose with it. Boooohooo... =(
