HOLY FUCKING SHIT!!!! I just spent a goddamn hour on the phone with SoE and those motherfucking assholes are asking me for every credit card # that the account has been billed to for 5 years....

The first clueless fuck I spoke to earlier today was ok with my email address and billing addresses for the past 5 years (which there have been 4) and 3 of the CD keys for EQ and expansions.... when I didnt get a response to the PW reset request... I called back... and the pimplefaced phone support fuck sat there and asked me for all sorts of different information... he said he wouldnt unlock the account without the original credit card # that I used... and after I explained to him that credit cards expire he went on to quiz me about the account information... when I answered his first 5 questions correctly... he thought it would be neat to try harder questions... like what was the credit card # used through most of 2001....WTF?!?!?!?!

I really want to kill someone.

Usually they send you a new one before it expires. With the same number!

My account has been on like 9 different credit cards over the years... when I was unemployed Aranuil even spotted me for a few months... so I couldnt begin to remember what card was used when.

I had the same issue just this week. Got hacked had to pull a 5 year old CC number out of my ass. I had the original email addy, the physical addy, current billing and all the CD keys for every expansion on the account and the little cock sucker still soul marked my account because I could not produce a 5 year old CC number. They really really need a better way to verify this. I used a check card to open my accounts, the number changes every 3 years and they dont keep the old number on file at my bank. So now if I ever have a billing issue or get hacked again they ban my account for no better reason then the kid I talked to was a jerk off...

didn't they conduct a poll not too long ago about SOE providing a safe method of account transfers and item buying? Sounded like they might want to try to get the business from Yantis/e-bay/playersauction all for themselves. Maybe the guy you talked to just tried to flex his CS penis one last time.
